My red, curly hair covers the sides of my face, shielding me from the rest of the world. A month ago, I was unstrapped, this message playing in my head. Someone was talking to me. I need to find them. When I woke up, I had a massive headache and no clue of who I was. An agent of sorts snuck me out of the building. It was all really blurry, and I barely remember a thing. I only remember him holding me and telling me to stay awake, and keep my head up.
I look up at the sky, and notice clouds slowly moving in and the sun going down. Great. Just what I need. I need shelter. I look at the buildings around me, and debate in my mind whether or not to hide in an alley. I just have a big, black windbreaker around my shoulders, with shorts and gray tennis shoes. I'm getting weird looks, people probably think I'm homeless, but I don't care. I need to find shelter. I was so consumed with my thoughts that I ran head first into someone. I looked up, and saw a cute boy, with tousled dirty blond hair, and bright green eyes.
"Sorry. I'll pay better attention next time." I ducked my head again, and tried to go around him, but he stuck out his arm and blocked me. I am totally not noticing how muscular it is.
"Would you like to go out for a coffee?" He smiled down at me, and I ducked under his arm, turned around, and started walking backwards.
"Sorry, no. I have somewhere else I need to be." His face fell, eyes lit up with something I can't identify, and I almost considered changing my mind but instead turned back around and walked away quickly.
I have got to get away. I have a bad feeling about him.
The sun soon set, and I still have no shelter, or anywhere to keep warm. After another hour of stumbling around, and violently shivering, I spot a neighborhood. I know it's a long shot, but I'm hoping maybe some old lady will be nice enough to take me in and help me get warm for the night. Something kept me going, I almost couldn't control my own feet. I came upon a nice looking house, with some rose bushes tucked against the wall. Something compelled me to reach up and knock, and when I saw who opened the door, I gasped.
"You!"
