(Sara's POV)
Shane looked great, he had his reddish brownish hair straightened and he was wearing a red and green plaid button up shirt that was obviously made for the holidays and he also had on jeans and some converse.
He also looked very shocked to see me, well basically fall of the face of the earth for five years then unexpectedly return to your family on Christmas Eve, you're GONNA get some stares.
"S-S-Sara?" Shane managed to stutter out. I nodded and Shane stepped out onto the porch and hugged me. I hugged back of course and started crying into his shirt. Don't judge, if you hadn't seen someone for like five years and you really missed them you'd be crying too!
"Thank god you're okay!" Shane mumbled just loud enough for me to hear. "What do you mean?" I asked. Shane hesitated for a moment before continuing. "When you were gone we had no idea if you were alright, I tried to ask your family a few times but they just changed the subject. You could've been dead, missing. For all I knew you could've been riding a unicorn thorough a field of rainbows while eating candy!" He said the last part jokingly. Yep, this was the same old Shane I grew up with.
"I'm just glad you're safe and back with us. You'll be lucky if I let you do so much as take a walk around the block by yourself!" Said Shane the last part a joke again. Wait a second, Shane always jokes a lot when he's nervous, why would he be nervous around me? We've known each other our whole lives, why would he be nervous?
"I missed you guys so much!" I said, and it was true. I couldn't stay away, not any longer. That's why I came back. Why I'm here right now.
At that moment I realized something that I wish I'd realized five years ago when I ran away, I needed my family.
