~Chapter 1~

Your POV

"STARFIRE!!!!!!" You called out to your purple night fury, waving your arms about. She stopped flying and looked down at you, sticking her tongue out and only continuing to glide. You huffed. Naughty little thing...

Looking around, you saw the last fish in the basket and quickly picked it up, smirking as a plan came up in your mind. You whistled to get her attention, and as soon as she looked down again, you held up the fish to your mouth, pretending you were about to eat it. Her green eyes widened and she swooped down towards you, landing with a thud and rushing over to eat the fish. You dropped it on the ground and laughed at your greedy dragon chugging it down. She finished and gave you a gummy smile, making you smile yourself. You walked over and pet her.

"Y/N!!!! COME ON!!!!" Your father called out from the boat. You turned around and sighed, hopping onto Starfire and flying the short distance from the forest and towards the deck. Your father gestured you to get on. You frowned and looked at your village one last time. Starfire nudged you with her wing, knowing you were sad. You gave her a sad smile and motioned her to get on the boat. She did as told and you two landed beside your dad.

"Do we have to leave, daddy?" You asked him. He sighed and wrapped an arm around your shoulder.
"Y/N, we talked about this, and the answer is yes." He reminded you. You groaned.
"But why do we have to go to Berk? Don't you like V/N?(A/N: Village Name)" You asked, folding your arms over your chest.
"Of course I do. It's our home. But it's a dangerous place to live in. We must protect ourselves. I can't lose you like I lost your mother. So please, try and understand." He said, walking away to check on the workers.

You stared blankly into the blue ocean, watching as the village you grew up on got smaller and smaller. What was this place called Berk anyway? Just because your father thought it was to dangerous to live in V/N you has to move? You get the fact that you were the next ruler in line, but still! You sighed and looked down, letting your tears fall. Starfire thrummed sadly and nudged you, looking at you with an understanding look.

"I miss Mom. I wish she were here. She'd understand." Your voice cracked as you sobbed. Your dragon hugged you as you sniffed, sobbing into her neck.

It had been a few hours since you left your home. And let's just say, having a mental breakdown and crying over your dead mother doesn't help the situation you're in right now. You hopped onto Starfire and she immediately shot into the air, soaring into the sky. Sighing, you lay back down onto her.

What's so great about Berk anyways? Who cares if you liked it there when you were younger? And what if that stupid guy who was your best friend is there? You hardly remember that idiot! He was probably a jerk anyways. Like all boys are...

"UGH!!!!!! WHY IS IT SO COMPLICATED!!!!!" You screamed, thrashing around wildly and nearly falling off your purple night fury. She shot you a warning look to be careful and your just huffed, laying onto your stomach and wrapping your arms around her neck.

"Y/N!!! GET DOWN HERE!!!!!" Your fathers voice called out. You groaned and nudged Starfire to land. Once you did, you were greeted by your fathers disapproving look. You just smiled innocently at him. He looked at you, then Starfire, then back at you, sighing.

"You need to stop doing that. It's disrespectful to your princess hood. If you don't, I'll have that dragon locked away." He warned. Your eyes widened and you glared at him, pulling yourself close to Starfire.
"You do realize I can just fly away, right? Be glad I'm at least deciding to follow you! If you don't, I'll just go and kill myself!" You shouted. Your father glared at you.
"Don't shout, young lady!" He said. You rolled your eyes.
"Why should I listen to you anyways? Just because your my father and the chief doesn't mean, I-I..." You tried to choke the words out. Your father just stared at you. You took a deep breath and mustered all your confidence up.

"IT DOESN'T MEAN I LOVE YOU!!!! IF MOM WERE HERE, SHE'D BE ABLE TO STOP YOU AND YOUR STUPID IDEA!!!! I WISH I WASN'T A L/N!!!!" You finally yelled at his face. Your fathers jaw dropped open. You climbed onto Starfire and shot into the air, leaving him shocked and hurt.

Hiccup's POV

I walked out my house and whistled for Toothless. He instantly flew over and roared happily. I laughed and shook my head, getting on top of him. He opened his wings and in the blink of an eye, we were in the sky, flying around Berk. I waved to the nearby villagers and sighed. Toothless noticed my distress and thrummed knowingly. I sighed again.

"Nothing, bud. It's just, why do I get this feeling that somethings going to happen today....?" I wondered. He just stared at me blankly before looking out into the sky, getting closer to the deck. I raised an eyebrow and lay back onto him, closing my eyes and breathing in the fresh air. I heard the sound of a new ship arriving and instantly sat up, peering over my dragon. A man who I assumed was from another village stood on the boat. He looked seemingly familiar...

Suddenly, a mass of purple shot right into us, making me nearly topple over. Someone, who was possible a girl screamed and tried to gain her balance while her dragon growled at me and Toothless. When the girl finally managed to settle down, her E/C eyes locked with my emerald ones. She had H/C hair and looked achingly familiar as well.

Her gaze instantly left mine and she nudged her dragon. They flew over to the boat, leaving me startled and shocked. Me and Toothless flew over and landed on the deck. I hopped off and ran up to my father, who was greeting the same man I saw earlier. They shook hands and laughed at something. When my dad noticed me, he pushed me towards the man.

"Ah! There's my boy! Hiccup, remember him?" My dad asked. The man looked at me and smiled.
"Of course I do! Nice to meet you again." He shook my hand while I just stood there uncomfortably. The man walked off, possibly to look for someone. I turned to my dad.
"Who was that?" I asked. He smiled.
"That was the chief of V/N! Him and his family used to come here and visit all the time when you were younger." He explained. I nodded, not saying anything. The chief came back with a worried look on his face.
"Can't find her. Wonder where she went..." He said. I looked at him in confusion.

The screech of a dragon filled the air behind us and we instantly turned around.

It was the same girl I crashed into!

"THERE YOU ARE!" The chief yelled, running over to the girl and hugging her. He told her something and she started to argue with him. I just stared at the girl. She looked so familiar...

Your POV

"Where were you?" My dad asked me. I rolled my eyes.
"I was just flying around. Relax, dad." I emphasized the word dad and he just sighed.
"I'm sorry about earlier, okay? Please, just try and set a good example. For me?" He begged. I glared.
"I would be perfectly fine if we decided to move back to V/N." I said. He sighed again.
"Y/N, I-" He was cut off by the same black dragon me and Starfire crashed into.

The black dragon tackled me to the ground and started to lick my face playfully. I laughed, trying to push him off. It tickled! Starfire stared at us in confusion, not moving a muscle. The black dragon instantly stopped and looked down at me with emerald eyes. I wiped my face and stared at his face. He looked familiar....

"Toothless?" I asked. He shook excitedly and nodded, roaring happily. I stood up and brushed myself. My eyes widened in realization and I squealed.
"TOOTHLESS!!!!" I ran over and hugged him. Starfire whined and I laughed. Toothless looked at her with his big, green eyes. She walked over and licked his face, causing him to go red in the face! I burst out laughing.
"Alright, bud! That's enough!" A voice so familiar laughed. Toothless ran over to the boy with auburn hair and stood next to him. The boy stared at me, causing something to click inside both of us.

"Hiccup?!"

"Y/N?!"
