It was the 14th September 1984. This was no ordinary date, because this was the day of Mr and Mrs Lennox 20th Anniversary of their marriage. Unfortunately for them, it wasn't such a perfect evening for the couple and their two daughters to celebrate it. Even so, the husband had decided to go out with a couple of friends to a bar. Although, he'd felt ever so guilty about leaving his wife Silvia to take care of their young daughters, Ellie and Edina on her own. But still she encouraged him politely to go on without her and have a good time.
Just as her husband Kent had left, Silvia crept up the stairs calling, "Ellie?...Edina?" There was no reply. She heard very faint giggling coming from the girls' bedroom. She opened the door, to find that it was pitch black, "Ellie?..-" Suddenly, both of the girls had jumped out and startled Silvia by screaming, "BOO!" Silvia jump out of her skin yelling, "Girls! You nearly scared me to death!" They were too busy laughing hysterically on the floor. "Goodness me, alright so what are these you girls have got here then?" Silvia asked kindly whilst lifting up Edina into her arms, and as Ellie stood still before her. "We made colourful masks at school! Do you l..like them?" Edina replied with a child-like stutter. "Do I like them?! Do I?!" Silvia remarked angrily yet she was only pretending, as she began to tickle the girls. "Alright cheeky monkeys, time for bed." Silvia helped both of the girls up and walked them to their beds, then tucked them in and left each of them with a soft mother's kiss on their foreheads. Whilst she had left the room, she flicked the light switch off, leaving the girls with a mother-like, "goodnight, my little beauties. Sweet dreams".
Silva stopped, looked down to the floor and smiled, then carried on walking, heading down the stairs to fetch a cup of coffee and her book. At the precise moment, when she finally reached the bottom step, the girls had poked their heads, round the corner of their bedroom door frame, to find that the coast was in fact clear. "Come on" Edina sneakily whispered. "No, she almost had a heart attack last time!" Ellie reminded her. "It'll be fine. We just won't scare her that much this time. Come on please?!" Edina whined as she tugged onto Ellie's arm, pulling her towards their mother's bedroom doorway. "OK but how are we supposed to not, 'scare her that much' anyway?"
"Just come on we don't have much...Mummy's coming!" Edina yelled in a whisper-like voice to Ellie, pulling her arm more to make her go into their mother's room. As Silvia made her way up the stairs, the girls sneakily slipped into her wardrobe, just in time as she started walking in.
Yawning ever so slightly, Silvia placed her legs onto the top of the duvet, cracking open a chapter of her book.
Meanwhile, Ellie and Edina had still remained giggling quietly in the wardrobe, preparing themselves for the big surprise shock. In the sudden moment, as the girls were about to jump out,
the front door swung open with a big SLAM! The girls jumped out of their skin, along with Silvia letting out a piercing scream. With a storm raging outside, rain plastering the door step. Their father had returned...Silvia slammed her book shut. She leaped out of bed, not thumping as she landed. She remained still, calm and quiet, with her right arm perched on the wall and her left, sticking out at her side, with her fingers parted slightly. As she listened carefully, the sounds of THUD...THUD...THUD began approaching up the stairs. She gasped but instantly covered her mouth so she would try not be heard. The footsteps were getting closer...and closer...and CLOSER.
For some reason when she peaked down each direction of the hallway, nobody seemed to be in sight. So as she turned around, still watching her back, she'd BUMPED! Into a huge object. Screaming in terror, Silvia held tightly to her chest with her right hand. Just realising who is standing before her, she releases her hand from Its position. "Honey, oh my gosh don't do that again! I thought you were a serial killer!" Although she knew it was him she struggled to not hesitate when hugging him. He pushed her away with an extensive force that made land on the bed. "Aaah! Why did you do that?! Kent you've been drinking too much tonight! This isn't you! Please listen to me!" She started backing up against the headboard of the bed, until she couldn't go any further back.
"Ellie? Is Daddy going to kill mommy?" Edina whispered shaking with anxiety. "I don't know Edina, just hang on tight to me." Ellie replied as she shed a tear in sadness. "What are you doing?" She questioned in a nervous-laugh sort of tone. Kent clutched the bedside table lamp into his hand, ripping off the shade, tossing it across the room and smashing Its bulb against the wall. "Put it down! Kent now! Stop! Please! I beg of you if you love me you won't do this!!"
She crossed her arms above her face, to block his hit. "I thought I loved you, but then I realised... THIS WAS YOUR FAULT" He spoke in a devil like voice. He attempts to make his move, but fails as Silva instantly jumps back, tumbling off the edge of the bed unintended, thwacking her head against the bedside table, her legs flipping over her shoulders, as she landed back first onto the hard wood flooring. She winced as she felt her head in pain, staring at her bloody hand. She struggled to get a clear view of what was approaching her and then, a pair of demon's eyes moved in closer, stroking the lining of her chin, leaning back to stand up Kent raised both hands.Silvia's eyes had widened as she saw that her life was about to come to an end. "Aaaah!!!" SMASH! The hit had such an intense impact that her skull had splat blood up the walls nearest to her, killing her instantly. The girls had begun crying yet covering their mouths as they sniffles as silently as possible. Silvia was dead.Tears were running down Kent's face as the remorse had started to rise. He broke down to the floor landing on his knees. He lifted up her broken corpse, rocking back and forth crying. "I'm sorry, I'm so..so sorry." Suddenly his evil had returned as he heard noise coming from the wardrobe. Ellie shushed Edina as much as she could. He dropped Silvia's body leaving her to hit the floor, like a rag doll.
