No.
One word, bouncing around the inside of my skull, over, and over, and over.
No.
No.
No.
This can't be happening. Why Skylar? Why?
How could anybody do this to an innocent person?
Everything seems to be happening in slow motion as I run to her lifeless body, and when I do reach her, the smell of her perfume and decay becomes too overwhelming. I close my eyes tight, willing myself to wake up from this nightmare.
But I never wake up.
Not when I open my eyes again, and I finally start to take in what I'm seeing. Her once pure white lace dress has become stained with blood. Her eyes, once beautiful blue, are now lifeless, staring into space, as if teasing me, that she's gone, that Skylar's gone, and she's never coming back.
Never.
Only when I sink to my knees, and start sobbing, do I notice that the ground in these woods aren't even. Not like they used to be.
I slowly lift my knee up, and I see them.
Footprints.
Running away.
I grip my blond hair in my hands, threatening to pull all of it out, and I let out a bloodcurdling cry. The others in what used to be our apartment building come outside, and one old lady, Addie, calls 911. This whole time, I'm just sitting on my knees, rocking back and forth, head in hands, letting the silent tears fall.
I soon start brushing her black, bloodstained hair with my hands, and I run my fingers across her olive skin, soon shutting her eyes.
Forever.Hey guys! Did you like the first chapter? Tell me what you think! Please be honest!
