"We must go get some resources, we're almost out of everything." Chris argued.
"I know we have to, but we're outnumbered-"
"We barely have food, Harry! We can't keep listening to you if we wanna survive." Brooke squeaked annoyingly.
"Fine Brooke, then go ahead... Get out. And show me how you'll survive one night out there." I spat.
I never really liked Brooke. She's one of those girls who will do anything to get attention. I only allowed her to join the group because she had nowhere to go, and this is a brutal world.
"Calm down Harry, I'm sure we're all stressed right now." Nova tried.
"I know."
"So... what now?" Chris raised an eyebrow.
"Chris, get Andy and tell him we're going for a long walk. Nova get our gears and Brooke..." I stopped because I didn't know what chore to give her, she basically screws up everything.
"I must be a bit helpful." She insisted.
"Yeah um... You can... Seduce some of the guys to make them come with us maybe?"
"On it." She winked and I smiled sarcastically.

"We're ready." Chris said entering the room followed by Andy.
"Okay. Everybody ready?" I shouted then heard a couple of 'yeah's'
"You sure you don't want me to go?" Nova asked me pleadingly.
"Yes. Stay safe here and don't let Brooke do anything stupid." I pecked her cheek.
Everybody knew that Nova liked me, but I pretended to be oblivious since I didn't feel the same way.
She placed her hand where I kissed her, "Take care."
-Few hours later-
"We've been walking for hours, and nothing... Not one animal." Andy pointed out.
"So they eat animals too when they can't find any humans?" Caleb attempted to joke but no one laughed.
Caleb was one of the newbies in the group, he was tough but a little stupid.
"Not the time, mate." I said loudly and he pouted.
"Wait-" Chris raised his hand so we would stop talking.
"What?"
"Did you hear that-" before he could continued his words a loud cracking noise was heard.
"Prepare your guns." I said to everyone.
Suddenly I heard a louder cracking noise, as if a tree branch was breaking.
"Look up." Caleb pointed at the oak tree.
There was a girl, a girl with brown hair. Her face and clothes were drenched in blood.
"It's just a girl, let's keep going." Andy walked past me.
"No." I said, and he immediately stopped walking.
The branch suddenly broke; the girl fell to the ground making a loud thud.
