Chapter 9

So it's been a week since I got engaged to Nathan and I'm really happy. A couple days ago my mom and his dad broke up.

Right now my mom and I are setting up for a garage sale. I noticed her putting some of the things my dad gave her a long time ago on a table with price tags on them.

"Why are you selling dad's stuff?" I asked.

"Because the man's a jerk. Besides, what else am I suppose to do with it?" My dad left us when he found out my mom was pregnant with me. She had me when she was only sixteen so she's a young mom. I've never met my dad and I really don't want to. He didn't want me anyways.

"Well you should give the stuff back to him even if he is a jerk."

"That's never going to happen." She put the box down and looked at me. "You're just too nice sometimes."

"I know," I muttered.

"Hi Ms. Harrington. Do you mind if I steal Allie for a second?" I turned around and smiled when I saw Nathan sitting in his car on the side of the street with the window down.

"No, it's fine," my mom answered. I smiled and ran to his car. I jumped into the passenger's seat and buckled the seatbelt.

"Hey. Where are we going?" I asked.

He frowned. "What? No hello kiss?"

I laughed and leaned over to seat to kiss his cheek but he turned his face so my lips met his instead. "How's that?"

"Eh. I would like it if I could have another kiss."

I laughed again and sat down in the seat. He pouted. "So where are we going?"

"It's a surprise." I groaned which just caused him to smirk. "Oh, just relax. It'll be worth it."

"Whatever." He started the car and we were off to wherever.

Finally after a few minutes of being in the car and talking to Nathan we pulled into a parking lot. We walked inside and my jaw dropped when I saw where we were.

"You took me to Celebrity Carnival?!" I asked shocked and happy.

Celebrity Carnival is this day long thing where you get to meet and hang out with a celebrity. They have one every year but it's always been in other states because they only have it in one state a year. There's not every celebrity though.

"Yeah," he replied.

"Oh my gosh! Thank you thank you thank you!" I threw my arms around him and pressed my lips to his. He smiled and kissed back.

"No problem," he said once we separated.

"Why'd you do this for me?"

"I just wanted to do something nice for you and you've said for a long time that you have always wanted to come to one of these so I thought why not."

I smiled. "Well thanks."

"I love you."

"I love you too." He wrapped his arm around me and we walked into the room.

"What celebrity do you want to meet that's here?"

I thought about it for a few minutes. "Taylor Swift."

"Okay." We made our way to where Taylor Swift was. She smiled.

"Hi. I'm Taylor. It's nice to meet you," she said.

"It's nice to meet you too. I'm Allie."

"And I'm Nathan," he said.

"So then are you two together?" she asked.
