This Is Just Ridiculous

For anyone who reads my story and seen I haven't updating; I'm sorry. I went to camp and then seriously two days after I got back school started. Not to mention it seems everyone is getting married this month or needs a babysitter. So, my dearest apologizes and I hope to update soon.

"Wake up, stupid!" A loud voice boomed waking me up from my slumber. I moan as I peeped one of my eyes open to see my older brother standing in front of me. Memories of last night ran through my mind like how tired I was when Bryce drove me home and collapsing on my bed.

"Five more minutes," I mumbled. My brother, Jason, tsked before yanking my cozy blankets from me leaving me exposed to the morning's cold air. "Jason! It's Saturday!" I whined wanting my warmth back.

"Just get out of bed. You know how mom is about breakfast." Jace said annoyed as he left my room closing the door behind him.

After a few more minutes of lying in bed, I finally gathered my energy to get out bed and to pick up my clothes. I turned on my phone and it showed me it was 7:27. Ugh, who wakes up at 7:27 in the morning on a Saturday?

I took my clothes with me and go take a shower. The cold water woke me up but not by much and my mouth smells awful. Ew. Note to self; never invite a cute guy over early in the morning no matter what they want. I wake up with horrible morning breath.

After finishing my daily morning routine, I trudged down the stairs and walked into the kitchen. I was greeted by family doing their own things and not even noticing me. My mom was just finishing the cooking, my brother was busy on his phone, tapping furiously, and my dad was tying his tie.

"Morning, " I grumbled sitting down in my seat and texting Hillary if she wants to go to the mall later. She replied almost instantly with a smiley face. I took that as a yes and shoved my phone inside my jeans. Breakfast with my family is always quiet and uncomfortable for all of us. It just makes me thing of how much our mom really wants us to be a family.

"I have to go mom, dad. I'm going to meet up with Hillary." I say after finishing breakfast and putting my dishes in the sink.

"You're going out again?" My mom asked with scrunched eyebrows.

"Oh let her go, Jane. It's not like we need her here." My dad said making everyone at the table raise their eyebrows and my brother choked on his milk.

"No! Not like that, Sierra! I meant like you aren't usefu- I mean impo- I mea-"

"It's ok, dad. I get what you mean. " I said smiling on the outside and rolling my eyes on the inside. Typical dad mistake, At least a typical mistake for my dad.

"Sierra, your dad means tha-"

"It's ok, mom," I said cutting her off.

"But Sierra!"

"Seriously, mom, I get it. I have to go!" I said as I walked out of the door.

I started walking to the mall when I heard honking. "I thought we were going together, CC!" the familiar voice of my blonde friend was heard everywhere in the neighborhood. I smiled and got on. "Sorry, parents."

"Mmm...well, I thought we could go to the bakery shop first and then...where ever you want."

"Cupcakes?" "One box for the both of us."

Hillary loved baked goods. Whether it was making them, eating them, or taking pictures of them. I'm serious. Her phone has more pictures of sweets than everything else put together. So if Hillary ever volunteers to pay for sweets, you know she has something to tell you.

"Ok, spill. What happened?"

"Well, remember how Lucas is almost always busy to do anything with me?" Hillary says while shoving down half a red velvet cupcake.

"Yeah, busy more like being a coward..." I say licking off some of the buttercream frosting from my cuppycake.

"He's not a coward!"

"He so is."

"Nuh-uh."

"Ya-huh."

"Nuh-uh!"

"Ya-huh!"

"Ok, I'm done stalling. I'll just tell you. Lucas is finally going to meet my dad so he can take me out to dinner!"

"Eeehhh!" I squealed as I went over to hug her.

Having your boyfriend take you out on a date may not be such a big deal to you guys, but for Hillary it was. Her parents were very umm...well scary. Her dad was one of those big, scary, and intimidating people who make others want to make them wet their pants while her mom was one of those people who would look at you all the time with a look that says 'I don't like you not get the fudgies out of here before I call the police. Ok maybe she would have used a different (stronger) word than fudgies but the point is, I had nightmares after going to her house to finish a project.

"Omygosh! I'm so nervous! What if my parents hate him? What if they figure out we've been dating for 7 months already? Or what if Lucas backs out?" Hillary started rambling.

"Hills, relax. You know Lucas loves you. Heck, I knew it the first day you arrived. And your parents? Lucas is the guy parents dream their little girls will date. Plus he is cute even though he's more of the big brother type for me." I say trying to reassure her.

She takes a deep breath before taking another cupcake from the box. "Thanks, Sierra." After eat many more cupcakes, me devouring all the ones with buttercream frosting and Hillary eating the biggest bites she can muster, we get into the same topic we had a while ago. Dang you, Hillary!

"You so need a boyfriend~!"

"No, I don't"

"But you want one."

"Nope!"

"Well, have you seen that brunette guy that has been staring at you all semester?"

"Wait, what guy?"

"Oh, never mind."

"Hillary!"

"You'll find out later!" "Gah!" "Love you." Hillary said giving me half her chocolate cupcake.

"Whatever." We stood up from the table outside the bakery and went to a store nearby. As I threw out the empty box of cupcakes, my eyes fell on someone else. A brunette who quickly looked away and scurried off. Strange. He looks familiar.
