Chapter One~Remarkable Abs, Water Fights, and Creepy Motels

"Trevor!" Screams Chloe. "Trevor Davis Huckleberry! Give me back my phone or I promise, I'll put deadly snakes in your tent!"

Chloe Jefferson, everyone. She's honestly my best friend. Couldn't do a thing without her even if I tried. She's my shadow and I'm her own. Though she says I'm the leader of our two-some, we all know she's the leader. I'm a follower, which I've been trying to tell her and everyone else but they don't seem to budge at the thought.

"Why don't you make your boyfriend get it?" Trevor Huckleberry, the wittiest guys I know. He's best friends with Chloe's here boyfriend, Cobi Blake. They've liked each other since three May's ago but finally had the decencies to go out. They've been dating for seven months now. I only know because they're keeping track and honestly, I'm jealous of their relationship. It's pure goals, everyone. Seriously, goals.

Chloe's face goes red with anger and frustration. "Trevor!" She screams and stands to her feet, the flames rising as she does so, which makes her look a bit like a demon from the under world.

"I'd give her the phone if I was you," speaks up Andrew, the only Hispanic in our group which is not a races thing but, he is. I'm part Greek and Italian. Chloe is a bit Irish and Scottish but mostly American from her Mom. Her beautiful and long red hair gives away her Scottish and Irish blood. Trevor is full white, from his blond hair and blue eyes and cheesy smile. Then Cobi, he's also white but his hair is as dark as mine. His could be more Raven black than mine. In the summer hints of gold and sun Orange is streaked through my hair.

Trevor tosses the iPhone that Chloe was on seven minutes ago before he snatched it. I'm not sure how she's able to go on her social media. We're in the middle of no where of the woods here up in California. The fire is the only thing that's keeping us warm and to be honest, I'm not warm enough.

"What makes you think I wouldn't given it back?" Trevor asks, plopping down next to me, winking. I roll my own two horrible brown eyes and push him a bit.

"White Boy thinks he better than everyone," I finally join the conversation.

Trevor laughs and looks at me. "That's my new nick name? What happened to um....? What was it?"

"Moron," answers Chloe.

"Music to my ears," laughs Andrew.

Yup, these are my friends. My crew, a few would say. Sadly, I've practically been alone. Chloe's been spending all of her time with Cobi-I don't mind by the way-but I'm a lone. We knew this would happen to. She would spend her time with him and that would mean our friendship might have to be paused. The idea isn't the best and it's great to get those short times with her while Cobi is there. We also get our late night convos about him and her, which are making me feel left out but, their stories our relationship goals.

"I think I'll stick with White Boy." Trevor leans back on his elbow and stares at the fire. Cobi and Chloe go back to who knows what-it's adorable though-and Andrew is thinking about heading to bed. He soon does ten minutes later after the fire begins to die out.

The stars above us shine bright. It looks like a scene from a movie that you'd wouldn't catch me dead at, if you know what I mean. Trevor yawns and stands to his feet. His tent is only three inches away but he takes his sweet time to get into it. His last wink allows my tired eyes to roll. He always knows how to make me laugh but he truly is a Moron.

Cobi gives a long and soft kiss on Chloe's forehead, she blushes and hugs him goodnight. His tent is between Andrew's and Trevor's. We made sure the two love birds had their distance that was required. Chloe and I share a large tent, but we are still out in the cold night staring at the beautiful stars and the dying fire.
