Lauren

At last, Lauren was free. At last, she could finally say what she wanted to say. At last, she could free her friends from this curse.

If only it was that simple.

The DDA knew of the flaw in the drones. The DDA knew that they could be defeated. As soon as a drone witnessed another being destroyed, they would update their software to keep it from happening to themselves. Only Lauren knew this, however. Merritt wasn't going to be happy when she discovered it for herself.

As soon as Madi had freed her, Lauren noticed that not only was Merritt watching the whole thing, but that Jimmy wasn't far behind. Emma hadn't even shown up, and that was off putting.

The DDA had a hold on Lauren and her friends, and whatever their "plan" was, (they had mentioned a plan back at their headquarters) it couldn't be good.

Lauren would have to help her friends stop the DDA, and she would have to help them soon. The DDA had also mentioned that the plan was scheduled to happen today, at 8:00 PM.

Heath

"First, I would like to start off by saying that we are 100% sure Lauren is the only one who isn't a drone anymore, so we're glad to have her back." Heath was ready to get this Anti-DDA meeting started. Lauren was the one who said they needed to have one immediately after school, the one who said it was urgent.

Heath was ready to know what was really going on.

Lauren looked around at everyone. "They're going to do something horrible; I just don't know what. Their base will be the epicenter, and it's going down tonight."

Madi's face flushed. "Tonight?"

Lauren nodded slowly. "Yeah."

Justin was ready to go. "Where's their HQ? What do we need to do to stop them?"

"I know where they're located, but because I haven't a clue what their plan is, I can't even begin to think about how we could stop them."

Madi's phone began to ring, and it was the answer to Justin's question.

Emma
"Pick up, pick up, pick up..." The dial tone booped a third time. Still no answer.

"Hello?"

Emma felt a short-lived relief. "Oh my gosh, Madi, thank goodness you picked up."

"Emma?! Where are you?"

"Doesn't matter. Is everyone with you? Put me on speaker; I've got to make this quick."

"Yeah, hang on."

There was a quick pause.

Madi returned. "Okay Emma, fire away."

"Listen, you guys," Emma paused herself to listen through the door. The closet wasn't very far from her holding cell, but she did get cell service here.

"The DDA is planning to wipe the memories of everyone in Idaho. They're going to use a modified drone software to do it. If you want to..."

Emma heard slow, deliberate footsteps. Someone was coming.

"You guys, I can't repeat myself... You need to get here and find their server room; destroy it."

The doorknob to the closet began to turn.

"Please! HURRY!"

The closet door opened, and Emma's escort revealed himself to be her pursuer.

"A whistleblower, Ms. Clarke? Don't worry, we have just the thing for people who sell us out."
