Sweat dribbled down Ryan's face as he was running, intertwining with the salty tears escaping his eyes. Clenching his fists too tight caused his nails to harshly pierce his skin, making blood spurt from the palm of his hand. His floppy hair bounced across his face as if it were a trampoline, getting in the way of his sight and distracting him from where he was going.
Bounding behind him were the feet of the same man who kidnapped him three weeks ago. The event scarred his mind and he remembered it like it was just yesterday. Ryan recognised the jingle of the keys, the vibration of the floor and the thump of his heart.
Breathing was getting harder by the second and his body was begging for water to fill his mouth and flow freely down his dry throat to rehydrate his exhausted body. Blisters started to form on his heels which the coarse material of his shoes created by chafing it against his skin. His legs were sore, aching, they couldn't handle the pain. But he couldn't stop now. Not while he was nearly free...
When his childish hair jumped out of his face, Ryan noticed a neglected manor. Ivy grew up the sides of the wall, not leaving a spot untouched, marking its territory. The opaque windows were messily painted black, and like a security guard, it made sure no light got through. Outside were bits and pieces of furniture, located in various different spots on the front garden. On the roof, spray painted in red, were the words 'YOU'LL NEVER WIN...' But Ryan wasn't close enough to see if they were the true words the house told. Although the rest of the manor was ruined and tortured, the door was left unharmed, it almost looked newer the closer Ryan got, decreasing the distance between himself and the manor.
Panic washed over Ryan as soon as he realised the man was still chasing him and he was still running for his life. However, when he turned back, he saw trees, pavement, stars, but no grunting man mobilising behind him. He slowed down to a walk to catch his breath and sooth his aching limbs, deciding he should go to the mysterious manor for shelter and a hiding position.
Cautiously, he trudged his way to the door of the manor, keeping an eye out for the man too. If he could hide in this manor for a while, he could be free. Free from the fear, the pain, the...
In front of him was the door. This door could decide wether he lives or not, but the door could be wrong. The man could find him here, give him punishments only superman could handle. To be honest, he didn't want to open it. He didn't want to feel the cool metal of the door knob caress his fingers, but he knew he should.
Resting his hands on fate, he twisted it open and...
"Told you you'd never win..."

Hey guys! I know this story is short but it's for the 500 word story write. I thought I could post it up on here before I send it, see what you guys think of it. It may be a little bad and make no sense but I couldn't think of anything.
This is the only chapter I will be posting but I might carry it on even though I won't know where to start. I probably won't post another chapter though.
Thanks for reading :P
