"He's right in there" Maya said with a warm smile
She watched as a family entered Lucas's room.
There was a man, a woman and a child who looked around the age of 4.
Maya found her incredibly adorable.
"Layla!" Lucas smiled wide as the young girl ran up and hugged him
Maya smiled
She peeked one last time at Lucas's happy face before closing the door and leaving.

Short after the visitors left, Maya came back into the room to check on Lucas
He was asleep.
"Mr. Friar.... It's time to check your blood pressure.."she whispered
He opened his eyes and almost smiled
"Come on, up up" Maya said as she supported his back with her small delicate arms as he moved up.
She grabbed the machine and looked him in the eyes
"May I?"
"Be my guest" he smirked
She lifted up his arm sleeve gently and wrapped the machine around his arm
"Tell me when to stop.." She had a worried look in her eyes

They both smiled and laughed
Who knows why
They just found it funny that they're hands landed on top of each other's..
