Mercy Not Even Close

I knocked out again before I even knew it. Mercy- man what a fucking lie her name was. My body was covered in bruises, scrapes, blood, and the worst part about it all my shoulder was still caving in.

Either the little shit Mercy did this to me or her older sibling Seiji, the cocky asian one. Oh well, I couldn't focus on that, it was better being alone in a new room of the cabin. A bedroom to be on point.

I was under the blue covers of the medium circular sized bed. The walls a dark grey, the floors still a dark wooden, and one circular window on the side of the bed and draped with navy blue curtains. A wooden desk sat on the foot of the bed, the desk being covered within pictures, board games, and some random junk I couldn't completely understand at the moment.

I sat up as my shoulder weighed me down so it took around maybe a minute or two just to sit up, a couple of groans and those awkward noises you make when you see someone die, whimpering I believe? Anyway, I heard a small knock on the door.

Narrowing down my options it was probably only mercy, but then I heard a more grown up womanly voice.  Thinking that there was only Seiji and Mercy at this camp I was surprised more scared though.

" Hello? Can I come in?" The voice has asked as I slowly stood up using the bed as support. I flung and clung against the wall as I limped over like a red mouth - red mouths are what people call the infected- and open the door only to sink to my knees in pain.

I looked up to see a woman. She had short curly brown hair, striking silver eyes, and a warm smile that suited her shade of brown skin beautifully. She wore a Dodgers baseball cap, a green shirt, jeans, and flat boots that went up to her knees.

" I see you're finally up," she had said with a smile. Meanwhile I'm basically drooling over how beautiful this woman was. " Names' Amber Vinci," she said picking up my weightless, wrecked body and carried me back to the bed. She was taller than me and much stronger.

" Lux," I said softly through the tears clouding up my eyes.

" Lux?" She asked softly as she walked out the door and a couple of seconds later came back with medical supplies and canned beans. " Rather beautiful name, I wonder why you were brought here," she said.

" Something," I responded with not knowing who or what actually dragged me here. Amber stepped closer wetting the black rag in the warm water bowl she had before ringing it out.

" Could you take off your shirt?" She asked in a soft voice. " Seth told me Seiji really didn't like that you were in the cabin."

" I can't take it off," I said frantically. " I can't lift my arms above my head," I added as Amber
nodded and pulled off my shirt revealing the sagging shoulder, the bloody bruises, and other cuts  among my chest and shoulders.

I could see her flinch and try not to hurt me as she set the rag down and began cleaning up my wounds. Sooner or later we were done and I was bandaged as well as Amber could. I
remember feeling like a red mouth mummy wrapped in terrible slings.

Then just when I was getting comfortable I heard a loud scream coming from the kitchen, well more of a demanding yell. I couldn't make out what it was but it sure as hell frightened me.
