That night, after waking up from the dream, I managed to fall back into sleep. Waking up again, my bones popped and my muscles ached in retort. Though the bed was shabby and threadbare, it seemed to be an endless layer of clouds; a blessed warmth of wings wrapped around my body. But I had to choose which pain was worse: that of tearing away from my bed, or the rumbling hunger pelting my stomach. Not really a choice, defeatedly I got out of the bed. Piggy snored happily at the foot of the bed, not waking to his very much distressed and frustrated master. Displeased, I grabbed my gear haughtily, and exited the door. I looked down at the floor, fresh dirt surrounding a small wooden sign, freshly placed in the soil.

"EID RO EVAEL" I sputtered aloud. 'What a mouthfull...' I thought. Furrowing my brow, I looked at the sign, tilting my head slightly. 'Wait...' I went around it, reading it from the back.

"LEAVE OR DIE...?" I read. "Hmm..." I remarked curiously. I surveyed the area around me, finding no signs of anyone else in my world. Smiling, I walked across the fields. Sighing, I thought I would give mining a try. I walked to my cave, finding the steps much steeper than what I thought before. Carefully, I shuffled down into the tenebrous casm. The pathetically dim and dying lights of my torches flickered ominously against the char-grey walls. Shivering from the draft, I walked deeper, clutching my pick-axe tightly. The last I remembered, all I needed were some more coal, so furthering my search, I found my last mining area. I raised my pick-axe, and slammed the end of it against the rock. It was easier than I thought, my strength chipping a crumbly chunk of rock, and a lump of coal popping out. It landed with a thud, the sound echoing through the empty cave. I swallowed, hoping, no BEGGING, that nothing heard it. I continued hurriedly, the raise and fall of the steel against the near-granulated rock echoed through the emptiness for around half an hour. With sweat lining my features, I picked up all of the coals I had collected, (12), and began treading towards the exit. As I climbed the steep side of the rock, some rock beneath my right raised foot crumbled, and my footing faultered. My hands slipped, my knuckles white from holding onto the sleeted rock so dearly. It cut into my palms, and I seethed back with the sting. My hold on the rock slipped with the slick blood, and I fell back. Fear darted through my blood aggressively, and my throat strained as I screamed. Just as I expected to hear a sickening thud, and popping of bones, I heard a thump. I felt something surrounding me, and cautiously opened my eyes. I was looking up to the top of the entrance, the sky becoming scarlet orange. I looked at my arms, noticing my legs were up near my stomach, and a hand on my left arm. My eyes widened in surprise. 'C-carried-?!' I yelled sub-consciously. Hesitently, I glanced up. My eyes met with two silvery-white eyes, and a strong, yet gentle featured face. First confused, I realized quickly that it was the same one from the time I first built my house. I froze out of instinct, and my negativity seemed to reach him. He slowly lowered my feet to the floor, and I eagerly stepped down. Fearfully, I quick-stepped away from him. He stared at me, his expression blank. Still staring, he took a step towards me. I flinched back, reaching towards the hilt of my steel sword. He looked down at my hand, and stepped back. He bent over, reaching for something I couldn't see. I gripped the hilt, preparing to protect myself. Shimmering against the dim torch lights, the daimond sword scraped the floor as he lifted it. My heartbeat paced quickly. He looked towards me again, his expression still blank, then turned into the dark. Just as the blue of his shirt began fading to the dark, I regrettably broke the silence.

"W-wait!" I stuttered. His frame stopped, and his head turned slightly back to listen. Fumbling with the sheath of my sword, I muttered again. "Th-thank you..."

He reacted with his head abruptly turning further, his eyes glancing back to me, then to the floor in front of him. He nodded, and silently walked into the casm. After seeing him leave, I stood for a few moments in silence. Realizing the rise of the moon, I scurried up the rock side, carefully avoiding loose rock. Running home, I closed the door hurriedly, and sat against the wall, panting. Piggy perked his head up from his bowl, soup smothering his snout. He snorted and waddled toward me. I petted his head, smiling.

"You wouldn't believe the day I've had..." I sighed. He snorted, resting his head on my lap for comfort. After petting him for a few moments, I rekindled the fire, cooked my meal, then put away all my equipment. Popping my neck, I began pulling off my shirt and shorts. Laying them on the foot of the bed, I replaced it with recently created leather armor. It fitted comfortably. The bed creaked as I laid down, and after covering Piggy and myself, I closed my eyes. Almost immediately as I hit the pillow, I was asleep.
