The Pastlife

Nathaniel was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, after he was born his parents moved to America, once in America his parents were killed in a failed robbery, he was put in a foster home where he stayed for a year until he was adopted by the Turners. China was born in Tokyo, Japan, soon after her parents moved to America where they were killed by a cereal killer who was caught not long after. She was put in a foster home for a year until she was also adopted by the Turners. After 3 years of living with the Turners the Turners had a break in and the thieves killed them, leaving the children drenched in blood and left to die. The police found the children and took them into foster care; the US and Chinese governments insisted to taking the children. Nathaniel was put into a program to try and make a super soldier while China was put into multiple martial arts schools to make a living weapon. After 9 years Nathaniel and China were turned into a ruthless killing machines. The US government saw China as a threat and sent Nathaniel to take her out. Nathaniel was dropped on mountain temple where China was living, he stood there, blindfold over his eyes, Army uniform on, a pistol in a pocket on his left leg, a mini machine gun in a pocket on his right leg, a shot gun on his back from his left arm to his right leg, a heavy machine gun on his back from his right arm to his left leg, and two knives, each in pockets on his arms. He looks in China's direction, no memory of his sister. China stands on the other side of the temple circle where they're located. China stood there, mask over her mouth, Tae Kwon Do uniform on, two packs of throwing stars on each leg, two throwing knives on each arm, a katana on her back from her left arm to her right leg, and two kamas, one by her right arm and the other by her left leg.

"I know you're here" Nathaniel tells China.

"I know" Nathaniel hears in his head.

"Let's not waste each others time" Nathaniel says as he gets ready to fight.

"Agreed" Nathaniel hears in his head as China gets ready to fight as well.

Nathaniel quickly pulls out his pistol as he runs towards China, shooting at her as he runs. China dodges the shots as she runs towards Nathaniel and pulls out a few throwing stars and starts throwing them at Nathaniel as she runs. Nathaniel dodges the throwing stars as they run towards each other. Once they reach each other Nathaniel's gun is empty and he throws his gun onto the floor and China runs out of throwing stars in her left leg, they begin hand-to-hand combat, Nathaniel starts punching China as China kicks Nathaniel, they block and dodge each other's hits easily. They both head back a bit and gaze at one another. Nathaniel takes out his mini machine gun as China takes out her other throwing stars. They look at each other and mouth "now" at the same time, running towards each other again and firing at each other, again missing each other as the other dodges. They again reach each other and once again fist fight, this time actually laying blows on each other. They again fall back.

"You know I've never had a fight like this" Nathaniel tells China.

"Same here" Nathaniel hears in his head.

Nathaniel grabs his heavy machine gun and China grabs her kamas, China runs at Nathaniel, Nathaniel shooting at China as she runs at him. China keeps running around him as he keeps on shooting, this keeps on until Nathaniel finally runs out of ammo and he drops the heavy machine gun. China takes this opportunity to get closer to Nathaniel and tries to cut and stab him. As she does he dodges and lays a few punches at her. She keeps going until he's finally able to grab her kamas one by one and throw them away from the fight. Nathaniel then quickly grabs his shot gun as China grabs her katana. He begins shooting at her as she dodges the shots and slashes at him as he dodges her swings. Eventually he again ran out of ammo and she seized the opportunity but failed as he blocked her with his shot gun and threw the two away from them. They stood there looking at each other, examining each other. They both noticed that throughout their fight they had successfully gotten a few hits on each other. They both then got the idea to finish the fight up and personal by using their knives. They ran towards each other and both held their knives in their hands. They began to block each other's moves perfectly, until their knives block each other and they simply keep applying force on each other. Nathaniel's left knife and China's right knife fly out of their hands and they use they only knives to attack each other. They both simultaneously pull their knives back and stab each other in their hearts. They both fall back bleeding, each other's knives in their chests. They lay there bleeding out, no one to help, no hope of living past this moment.

"Well if I'm gonna die I might as well tell you who I am," Nathaniel says to China, "my name's Nathaniel Turner."

"I'm China Turner" Nathaniel hears in his head.

"I guess this is it" Nathaniel continues.

"I guess so" Nathaniel hears China in his head.

As they both see a white light they smile, they know they're time has come. They find themselves better than before as Nathaniel is no longer blind and China is no longer mute. The next thing they see after the white light is themselves again, they look at each other and don't feel any hatred for each other, they think it's an effect of dying, when suddenly they a couple appear before them. The couple walk up to them and speak their names to the surprise of Nathaniel and China both since they've been blocked from society their entire lives. The couple explain that before they could remember, when they were just babies, they had adopted them, sadly they only had 3 years with them but they were the best 3 years of their lives. Nathaniel and China feel happiness take over them as they finally feel like someone, anyone, loves them. They hug the Turners, smile and tear up as they do, the Turners hug them back, after they hug the Turners bend down a bit to be at Nathaniel and China's hight and they tell them that even as babies they knew they would do great things and that they know that they won't see them for a while but that eventually they'll meet again, and when they do they'll be a family in the afterlife. Nathaniel and China are confused as to what they mean when suddenly they are teleported to the new God and Satan, they look in front of them to find God and Satan standing in front of them, God looks down with white glowing eyes and an angelic voice coming from him saying "We've summoned you two here to be Reapers, as Reapers you will be sent back to Earth to be trained in the art and then will have the job." Satan standing beside God with Black eyes continues with a demonic voice, "You will be trained by the previous Reapers who shall be your guardians and teachers until you two become Reapers, once you do they will become Grims and will take on after you two have finished Reaping." Nathaniel and China look at each other and decide to accept the offer after remembering what their parents said and understand that this is what they were talking about. God signals someone to come in and Nathaniel and China look behind them, they see two girls coming into the room with two weapons. The girl on the right has a white dress on, big white bird-like wings, a halo over her head, long blonde hair, and a circular chainsaw in hands. Meanwhile the girl in the left has a black dress on, big black bat-like wings, two horns coming out her head, long red hair, and a scythe in hands. The two girls walk up to God and Satan, Satan tells them that they're to train Nathaniel and China, the two turn around to look at them and agree, not knowing they will be training them to take their jobs, the only reason they're allowed to stay on Earth. The girls, Nathaniel and China are then teleported to Earth where they stand in a house, ready to begin their training.
