It had been a year with out talking to Josh. It was great. I was finally happy. I was never worried anymore. He had moved back to Philadelphia after a few weeks because Amy and Alan missed having a kid around. Gracie and I had gotten closer. She, Riley, and I would do things together all the time. This included going to the mall. I hated the mall. But they dragged me.
That leaves me here now. Sitting at a table drinking Starbucks with Gracie while Riley got our food from some other place. I didn't pay attention to where she was getting it.
"So....has Riley told you yet?"
"Told me what?"
"I guess not."
"No, what is it?"
"It's nothing. I'm sure she'll tell you soon."
Riley came over with our food.
The rest of the day consisted of being forced to go into several stores.
Finally, we got home. Riley asked Gracie and I to stay over and we obviously said yes.
"Maya," Gracie said. "Truth or dare?"
"I'm gonna play it safe and go with truth."
"You're no fun! Okay um.....do you ever still think about Josh?"
"Sometimes. I don't miss him. I just think what made him do that to me."
"Aw Maya." Riley said hugging me. "My uncle is a jerk."
I laughed. "Riles, truth or dare?"
"Truth."
"What do you need to tell me that Gracie told me about?"
"Gracie!"
"What? I thought you would've told her by now!"
"Maya, what I'm about to say might make you very mad."
"Riley I'll be fine just say it."
"Josh is coming back tomorrow."
