I swung my swivel chair over to my bed, where various energy bars lay scattered in a giant mess. Studying was not fun, especially when it's your very first test, and have no idea how to prepare. I had notes, stickies, highlighters, and sharpies, all the classic study items you never really end up using. I forced myself to look at the clock, knowing it was going to be late, thus the energy bars. 1 o' frickin clock. Actually not that bad for a cram session. I stared at my paper for a good 5 minutes before I made it official that my brain couldn't function past 12:30 without coffee. I was on a caffeine free challenge week, to see if I could handle living without it. It was pretty damn hard, but I think I'm getting used to tea. On a different note, I put away my materials, grabbed a handful of cheese-it's, threw on a t-shirt from Cape Cod, and some sweatpants and got in bed. Dehlia, my roommate, was already asleep. I should have suspected she wouldn't be studying now, since she doesn't do caffeine. Before I went to sleep, I made sure I had everything set up for my terrifying second week at college.

"Oh my lord are you serious?" I asked myself. I had left my shower caddy in the bathroom. The bathrooms for boys and girls are on the level below our dorm, and are "conveniently" placed near each other, or so our TA says. Yea sure, convenient for the cheerleaders, the hot blondes who can get into seven guy's pants in a week. That's a hookup literally every day. I've even seen one girl lead a guy straight into the boys bathroom, no shame at all.

I got back out of my bed and grabbed cuter sweatpants than the navy ones with holes in the knees I was wearing previously. Oh, and I put on a bra. The door shut quietly behind me, and I snuck out without waking Dehlia. Thank god my toenails were painted, or that would have been real ugly to walk down in public.

The hallway was well lit, each door to a girl's dorm decorated on the front. The boys were above us, some mixed in on our level. When I was about halfway through my journey to the bathrooms, I heard laughing. And then crying, and then silence. The sound of what seemed to be a girl, was coming from down the hall. As I turned then corner, I could see Grace, the nice, blond, christian chick who lives on our floor, and Halie, her roommate. Halie was the one making the noise as I could tell. There was a brown haired guy in a varsity jacket walking in the front, holding Halie over his shoulder like a potato sack. Halie was no longer speaking, and the two walked in silence, Halie not really getting a choice. Her stilettos were still attached to her feet, so close to whacking the dude in the face.

The varsity dude had Halie casually slung over him, Grace trailing behind, looking quite embarrassed. As I passed, the guy nodded to me as if to say, w'sup, or nothing to see here. Once I got a little closer I noticed Halie was actually passed out. There must have been a frat party that I apparently didn't get invited to, and Halie got a little bit more than tipsy. Her face looked calm, her head in an awkward angle, lying against his back. Her skin-tight dress was riding up, and her boobs were almost hanging out, but varsity dude didn't seem to care. It's nice to know some guys around here won't take advantage of a drunk.

Grace gave a small "Hey," as I passed, looking dreamily at the guy in front of her. At first I thought Grace had a crush on varsity dude, but then I realized varsity dude was looking at someone else. He was looking at Halie in the cutest guy way, that it made my heart melt. I know they aren't a couple, but it's obvious that varsity dude has feelings for Halie. Grace didn't like him, she was agonizing over the fact that she wanted a guy that stares at her the same cute way that varsity dude does to Halie.

That's frickin adorable.

A few minutes later I got to the bathroom, avoided the pervs, grabbed my shower caddy a booked it back to my room. Now two in the morning, the girls on my floor were probably wondering what I was doing up. Honestly, I could have just used Dehlia's shampoo, but who cares. I needed to wear off the caffeine anyways.

***

The next morning I was surprisingly okay with the little amount I had slept. Dehlia was up at 6:30, and already had went to the gym, showered, and ate breakfast. We had a morning Mister Bagel run whenever we weren't pressed for time in the mornings.

On my bedside table, I caught a note, with a four Italian cheese bagel on top. I smiled to myself, and read the note.

"Sienna! hope you didn't forget but you have chemistry today at nine thirty. Schedule change, remember?  Anyways, I'm already ready to go, so i'll meet you there. Hope you're not late. Love, Dehlia."

I suddenly started eating my bagel twice as fast.

"Oh my god, I'm going to be late. Holy crap okay... um what do I need..." I said, pacing back and forth, crumbs still attached to my mouth.

In about 6 minutes I was out the door. I ran down the hall and down the back stairs. Little did I realize there was a purse dropped on the ground that on second thought, was probably Halie's. I tripped over it, but I got up and kept running till I got to my car. I heard a loud groan coming from the car next to me. Jack the douchebag was standing next to his keyed car and popped tires. There was a message on the side that said,

"Don't fuck with Faye or you get keyed, wimp."

Apparently she meant it. He probably screwed her and then left like the wimp he is. Jack was known for asking innocent or lonely/desperate girls for any form of sexual bonding including making out, flat out doing it, or Netflix and Chill, which we all know is not anyways just "chilling".  It's not my problem anyways, and I honestly don't give a split shit second about him. Sorry bud.

I walked out of the giant parking lot filled with used and toilet papered cars and headed to my next class with Dehlia. On the five minute walk, you can really spot the groups. There's the "Plastics" being referenced to Mean Girls on my part, the junkies, the earth/environment protecters, the emo train filled with broken dreams, the K-Pop's, the "easy access" girls, and the computer geeks. I half expected the classic high school stereotypes to change, none to my avail, it still the same old some old.

After speculating the various crowds I got to Demantus Hall, where Chem was. I checked my phone for the time. It was 9:25. The teacher, Mrs. Kruff was harsh, Like seriously harsh. I started sprinting down the sidewalk, avoiding couples holding hands left and right. At top speed I reached the door. Just to my luck, suddenly the door opened.

Right into my face.
