I paced outside the principal's office, waiting for Hunter to be done with his interview to get into Valleyville Academy. Sammi was sitting on the bench across the hallway, Felix was sitting next to Sammi. He was rubbing her back. Sammi was to go in for her interview after Hunter came out. Felix and I were there for moral support.

Hunter came out of the office. I rushed over to him.

"Are you in?" I asked and he hung his head.

"Oh." I said, and I also hung my head, we both raised our heads and our gazes met. He was... smiling. Realization blossomed into existence. I started to smile.

"I got in." He whispered. I impulsively hugged him. I quickly stepped back awkwardly. He turned to Sammi.

"Don't worry, it's a simple interview if you're anything like your dad." He said, and Sammi smiled. The principal then appeared in the doorway.

"Miss Samantha Zoë-Dawn Valdez?" She called. Sammi stood.

"That's me." Felix mouthed 'Zoë-Dawn?' To Sammi and she gave a 'I'll tell you later' wave. She went in and the door closed behind her. Felix immediately go up and started pacing while Hunter and I sat down on the bench where Felix and Sammi were previously sitting.

"So... How was the interview?"

"Hard, but what I said to Sammi was true. I just thought of Leo Valdez and then it was suddenly easier to be relaxed."

"That's good. So right now my mom is getting school supplies. And she normally special orders all of my textbooks in Greek. Now that you got in we can get your books in Greek as well! Let me just... Text her? No that won't work..."

"You could always IM her..."

"What's IM-ing?"

"Follow me." He said, walking towards the staff restroom. I precariously followed him.

"What are you doing? We aren't allowed to go in there. And your a guy."

"So?"

"And I'm a girl."

"Well we need to go somewhere to make a rainbow."

"Why do we need a rainbow?"

"I thought you were supposed to be the smart one!"

"Well I've never heard of IM-ing with rainbows till today!" He entered the bathroom. Then he looked at me.

"Do you want me to do it alone or do you want to find out about IM-ing?" My curiosity got the better of me and I walked in.

"If you do anything, and I mean anything, I will not hesitate to judo-flip you and then proceed to skewer you with Riptide. Got it?"

"Yeesh. You drive a hard bargain. I promise I won't do anything but IM your mom. I just hope your dad doesn't make me a shish-ka-bob." He filled the sink with hot water.

"What are you doing?"

"Trying to make steam for the IM."

"Well it's not going to be steam anytime soon. That is... Unless I help..." I felt a tug in my gut as I moved the water into a position where we could make a rainbow.

"Wow." Hunter said. He turned on the light and closed the door. A rainbow shimmered into existence. He pulled out a drachma. He tossed it into the rainbow and it vanished.

"O Iris, goddess of the rainbow, accept my offering, show me Annabeth Jackson." The rainbow shimmered and my mom appeared. She was sitting at the table looking at a order form for the textbooks.

"Mom!" She turned and saw me.

"Silena! And is that... Hunter... Right?"

"Yeah it's Hunter." Hunter said. My mom nodded.

"So I have no idea how this works but it works so I'm going to tell you what I need to tell you." I said.

"Okay."

"We will need for sure 2 sets of Greek textbooks. Maybe 3. Let me go see if Sammi's out."

"Okay. I can wait." Mom said and I slipped out. I was relived. I quickly found Sammi talking with Felix, waiting for me.

"Did you get in Sammi?" My sturegoat older brother (Felix) glared at me.

"Yes. Where is Hunter?"

"IM-ing my mom." I ran back to the faculty bathroom before any questions were asked. I nodded at Hunter.

"Mrs. Jackson, we're gonna need 3 sets of Greek Textbooks." Hunter said. Then he swiped his hands through the water/mist and the picture disappeared.
