Guys, look, I'm not dead.  Now, this chapter isn't the greatest; seeing as how I added in so little every so many months during my haitus... The ending is so unbelievablely rushed... I am so sorry. I'll fix it later, I promise... I just needed to get this out if people actually wanted the next chapter because it's been half way done for so long.

The sound of pulsating filled Syo's right ear as he pressed up against the mound to avoid being seen. Having the bright red hair, they could spot him right away. Although, his hair did somewhat blend in with the magenta colour of the room, so if they saw him, they'd just be curious about a nearby colour. Either way, he would be found out.

The skeletons appeared to be dangerous, they were holding weapons after all. But who knew if they were benevolent or malevolent? They could just be harmless and trying to protect themselves from outsiders. But the eyes; they had those piercing red eyes that looked full of hatred and violence, the skeletons could be hostile.

It didn't help that they only levitated; there was no squishing noise to alarm Syo if they were close or not. All he could rely on was the clatter of their bones when their swaying came to a halt. He didn't even dare to try and sneak a quick peek at them, the chance that one of them might be looking in his direction was high. His heart skipped a beat when he heard the next clatter; it was directly to his right. One of them were so close to finding him, however, they didn't come into view, they were still obscured by the mound. Syo prayed that they would just leave once they realized he wasn't there, but they would probably stay until they did find him. He knew there wasn't much time left to stay covered; once they were done surveying the front part of the room, they were bound to move towards the back part.

The creaking sound of the door opening was heard among the sound of the skeletons' bones clacking together. He could barely hear it from where he was placed, but he still heard it. Oh, they were going out… or maybe more were coming in, but he still sat with his back against the fleshy heap. He didn't want to risk anything. Something unexpected had happened though, a voice came through the clacking.

"The skeletons are here." the voice deadpanned. As soon as that had slipped out, all the noise had stopped, Syo could only hear his shallow breathing. But seconds later, he heard the skeletons' hollow bones clank against each other, they were possibly turning to face the owner of the monotone voice, and then the room was filled with hostile growling and shrill shrieks. They apparently didn't take a liking to the newcomer.

"How bothersome." the voice added after a sigh, but it sounded farther away this time. The sound of something swishing through the air came then and the skeletons' bones were scattered about. Syo watched in fear as one of them hit the wall with great impact, causing their bones to fly off or break. Low growls could be heard, it signaled to the others that they were slowly dying.

Syo stayed where he was, now forcing himself in the small gap between the wall and the heap, breathing quietly so that the new predators wouldn't take notice of him. He thought that he had finally been in the clear, but it appeared that he still had to stay with his fleshy friend. The boy sat there, ducking his head down, listening to the new noises that were going around in the room. It sounded heavy, like boots walking around, the squishing was present. "I thought somebody had came in."

            "It appears they haven't."

"Maybe they went in one of the doors."

This was where Syo became puzzled; it was one voice, but the owner of that voice was having a conversation with themselves. He thought about peeking to see who exactly was now standing in the room with him, but if they were harmful, spontaneously appearing before them could result in him getting injured or even worse. However, this person could speak. So that meant Syo could communicate and explain himself rather than have the situation with the skeletons where he couldn't do anything like that. It was risky, but he was willing to take the chance because of that factor. He actually didn't even need to say anything, they had noticed him already. "There's something red over there."
