'I loved you for a thousand years. I'll love you for a thousand more.' I hummed along as I heard Christina's voice. I loved her inspiration for the song. She gave James and I such hope. He's been acting kind of strange lately, but this song reminds me of how much I love him anyway.
I hummed the rest of Christina's beautiful song until it went off the radio and an annoying commercial came on. I got up, switched the radio off, and went to check on my roast.
'James should be home. I wonder where he was.'
I thought to myself as I poked the roast with a fork making sure it was completely done. I chuckled as the fork got stuck and I had to quickly jerk it in order to come out, but the front door interrupted my thoughts.
"James, is that you?" I called out from the kitchen.
Silence was all I could hear.
"James." I said trying not to let my voice grow shaking, showing how nervous the sudden silence was making me. James told me that I need to be a little tougher, a little stronger.
I began to creep on the newly waxed wooden floor. Letting my favorite slippery socks lead the way to the front door. That's when I heard him.
"Mommy?" I heard Thomas say.
I quickly stopped in my tracks.
'Mommy?' I thought to myself.
'That's not him, that can't be him. He's dead. No, no, no, no.' I thought. 'Thomas is gone, never to return' I said tears filling my eyes blinding me until they went away, and gripping my hair wishing I could wake up from this horrible nightmare.
"Mommy............MOMMY!!!!!!!" I heard Thomas say again.
"GO AWAY!!!!!" I said now on my knees. "Just please........."

And that's when I woke up. That's when it hit me. You might be a bit confused so i'll.......a, tell you what that whole thing was about. Well you see I just got the news that my 'ex-husband' James and my beloved, dear sweet child Thomas got into a car accident and their car landed off the bridge and into a lake. Now let me tell you my husband well, 'ex husband' was crazy. He said that his side of the family had some type of tradition where they would die....then come back. It's not supernatural or anything. They would 'How do I say this.' stage their deaths then make a miraculous return. Then they would come for the people they love the most and make them stage a fake death. Then so and and so forth. The thing is my 'ex husband' told me this the day before his and my sons death. Weird right. Anyway that was a year ago. People around town think i'm a little crazy because I thought that I saw my 'ex husband'. Crazy right? Well this book will be about my life since the accident. The accident that tore everything apart. Thomas was the highlight of my life. The only little thing that i loved with all my ❤. R.I.P Tommy.
