That one prom night

School that friday went by slowly. I had all my classes without Audry and Shin. I did have English with Connor. All I did was give him an arrogant look and for the rest I ignored him. Connor might be popular, but everyone was smart enough to not mention the dump. I might be an akward potato, but if you mention something I don't like, I'll make you know... 

"you ok?" Tiffany asked. "yeah, why?" "well, you seem so away. You're just doodling in your notebook and staring out of the window. What's on your mind?" "Hmm, Just nervous about tonight, I guess." I mumbled as I stared at my doodles. Some hears and two S'es. It looked nice, but I felt like a stupid girl in love, Thinking about nothing but her crush. But mostly I was thinking of how I couldn't have noticed Shin was being bullied for such a long time while we were so close. And then the fact that the bully was Connor... 

After what felt like the longest hour of my life, the last bell rang. I hastily put my books in my backpack and walked towards the lockers with Tiffany. In the halway Audry joined us. "So! What are you wearing Tif?" she asked "Oh, I'm wearing a mintgreen dress. It's knee length. My dad said kneelength or no prom, so I had to... SO LAME!! UUGG!" "Poor girl. Sam and I went shopping together. you'll see our dresses tonight." "well thanks for inviting me to come..." Tiffany mumbled dissapointed. I opened my locker and took out my books. Then I noticed something. Shin was looking at me. Tiffany and Audry both poked me in my side at the same time. 

Shin smiled and walked towards me. "hey babe." he said as soon as he was close. he put his hand on my cheek. "h-hi" I stuttered nervously. Why was I nervous? Shin's been my best friend for years. maybe because I felt so many eyes looking at me. I thought Shin was going to give me a kis on the cheek. Instead he went for the lips. I put my hand on his cheek and kissed him back. For a moment I forgot where I was. Who was arround me. The last thing I heard from the people arround me was the "ooooeeehh" from my friends. And then the only thing I could hear was Shin and myself.

"are you coming with me? I wanna show you something." Shin then asked me. I looked at Audry. She noded. "you think they'd...?" Tiffany whispered to Audry. "Oh, come on guys! Sure I'll come." "I'll see you at my place" Audry said right before Shin took my hand. The two of us walked towards the parkinglot. He leaded us to his car. A bmw. No wonder, He's rich as fuck. 

"what is it you want to show me? " I asked when we were sitting in the car. "I, eeh, I wrote you a song on the piano a long time ago. I want you to hear it now." "NO WAY! That's so sweet." I leaned forward and gave him a kiss on the cheek. A slight smile appeard on his face. "I really like you" He said.

Shin sat behind the wingpiano. He took me on his lap. "you know," I said. "I'm so jealous, You've got this huge ass wing piano, and I've got nothing but my crappy keyboard." "Guess you have to come over more often to use this one, then." Shin placed his hands on the piano and started playing. It was a beautiful classic song. The song had no lyrics. It wasn't really a song to sing to. 

After the song Shin and I sat in the livingroom and we talked. Till my phone interrupted us. I got a text from Audry. She asked where I was. She was at my place already. "I have to go, Shin. Auds is waiting. I'll see you tonight. You're picking me up right?" Shin nodded. 

"Hi mom." I greeted my mom when I walked into the kitchen.  "where's auds?" "upstairs, In your room. Why are you so late? were you really at Shins?" "Yes mom. I was at shin's place. We were talking about... Stuff." "samanth, you aren't lying are you? Or is there some boyfriend involved? Your prom date that Audry was talking about? Tell me all about it. Sit down." I sighed and plopped down at the table. "Mom, yes I was at Shins. Yes, there is a boyfriend involved. And yes I have a promdate. now I have to get ready and it would be rude to let Audry wait al alone, wouldn't it be?" I stood up and made my way to my room. 

Audry looked up from her phone when I opened the door of my room. "there you are!" she said. "I've been waiting. SIT DOWN."  she pushed me on my chair and took her make-up bag. She brought hers, because I don't have that much make-up. I just simply don't use that much. I closed my eyes and Audry started working her Make-up-magic on me. after 15 minutes Audry said: "Done, now your hair." and she directly started on my hair. After that whas finished, she made me look into the mirror. I looked amazing. I really did. She did a great job. "o my god, auds, You're SO good at this! MY TURN, MY TURN!"

I did my best to make her make-up look as good as mine, not that she needed that, but anyway. I impressed my self tho. her hair worked out well too. Luck was on our side that night, I thought. thought...

After we were done with our hair and make-up. we got in our dresses and layed down on my bed. We watched some TV while waiting for our dates. Only if we knew what was going to happen...
