Wings of Fire: The Dragonets of Destiny

Prologue

8 years ago....

Virus flew through the stormy sky, towards the Night Kingdom. The cold rain pattered onto his neon green scales as he flew. As thunder rumbled, Virus planned on how to get the NightWing egg without being spotted. The NightWing was like any other kingdom; wide awake in the morning and asleep like sloths at night. Virus snorted, letting out an mist of water. He then saw a small glow of red coming from an mountain near the RainWing kingdom. It was the Night Kingdom, the tribe of the NightWings. Virus slowly landed on a ledge and scanned the area. There was no one in sight, so Virus slowly crept into the NightWing territory. Virus could hear sizzling from the rain getting in contact with the lava as he crept into one of the NightWing's caves. The one Virus crept into had a large opening, and it was near the lava, making it weirdly warm even with the downpour. As he walked through the tunnel, he saw a eerie glow as he got closer. When he looked into the hatchery, he gasped. There was 2 eggs; one dark grey one, and one sparkly aquamarine blue egg. Virus scanned both eggs. The grey egg looked like a ordinary NightWing egg, but the other egg looked like a SeaWing egg. But why would a SeaWing egg be in the NightWing territory? Lucky me. Now I have 2 eggs to bring back, Virus thought. Virus grabbed the SeaWing egg gently with his talons, grabbed the NightWing egg with his teeth, and flew off into the thundering sky.

"Oh Mercy!" Shouted Virus as he walked into the tunnel to the underground cave. A pure red SkyWing with orange eyes comes out of nowhere. She then hissed. "What?" She said, nearly growling. Virus then slowly set the eggs on the ground. "I found a NightWing egg, and a SeaWing egg!" Virus said happily. Mercy scanned the egg. "A SeaWing egg in the Night Kingdom? How?" Mercy said. Virus shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe an NightWing was trying to get revenge of something." Virus said. Virus grabbed the eggs again and layed them in a nest with 2 other eggs.

Mercy snorted. "Are you sure that's a SeaWing?" Mercy said. Virus flickered his black tongue in and out his mouth like a snake. "It doesn't matter if its not. It needs to be at least close to one." Virus said. Mercy hissed under her breathe. "That's not what the prophecy says!" Mercy snarled. Virus hissed. "The prophecy says, When the moons shine on the brightest night, 5 dragons shall bathe in moonlight. When 5 rise, they shall stop the battle cries. The SeaWing egg of deepest sea, the NightWing egg shall be the key. The RainWing egg of the trees, shall be the bravest and shall not flee. For the wings of mud shall be the strongest and shed thy most blood. When the time comes, the 5 dragons shall rise to end the fight." Virus explained. "Yeah, SeaWing egg of the deepest sea. That egg isn't from the Sea Kingdom, moron!" Mercy argued. Virus growled. "Well, not all dragon eggs has to be in the kingdom's hatchery! We found that MudWing egg in the Sand Kingdom, didn't we?" Virus questioned. Mercy rolled her eyes. "Whatever..." she said. She looked over the 4 eggs. "Where is the 5th one?"

Virus sighed. "There was no SkyWing eggs to be found, so we just have to stick with 4." Virus said. Mercy nodded. "Fine then," she said. "But feeding 4 dragonets, including ourselves is just too much for me."  Virus grinned. "Maybe because you never seen a dragoness work." Virus joked. Mercy glared at him. "Shut up you cowardly RainWing...." Mercy snapped. Virus snickered as he looked at the 4 eggs. "We have to train them good, if there going to stop this war." Virus said. Mercy snorted. "Right. Train the dragonets until their warriors, not scavengers." Mercy agreed. Virus kept staring at the nest with the destined eggs. "I'm serious... If we don't train these dragonets to fight... They'll only get themselves killed.. and fail on stopping this dreadful war...."
