James Cleveland Owens was an American Track and Field athlete and four-time Olympic gold Medalist.
He was born on September 12,1913 in Alabama and died March 31,1980 in Tucson, AZ
He was married to Minnie Ruth Solomon from 1935 till the day of his death.
A quote from him was "The battles that count aren't the ones for gold medals. The struggles within yourself – the invisible, inevitable battles inside all of us – that's where it's at."
He won 4 gold medals in the same year.He won one for the long jump another for a 400 meter relay, another for 100 meter run ,and another for 200 meter run.
He won each of these gold medals in Berlin.
