The Rift

Us and the Guardian walked for a couple of miles, but took a break at a broken McDonald's™. I leaned over to her, "what's your name?" I said with a nervous smile. "Starla" she answered with a concerned face. "Starla, what's the rift." She stopped and stared at the floor of the cracked McDonald's™ tiled floor." Huma- or walkers, time had come to an end. An asteroid had crashed on to the Earth and spread a nuclear disease effecting all walkers. It didn't kill animals, it mutated them. Creating mythical beings that roam the Earth. Mother Nature had been sad to see all the walkers go. So her and Father Sky created the rift. A tear in the Earth that would take two walkers into a hyper sleep until the Earth was ready again for life. You were one of them." She said to me. I looked at her dumbly, "how do you know so much about the Rift?" She still had her eyes fixed on the floor. "Because, I wanted to learn more about this new world, so I asked Mother Nature myself. And she told me about it."

We ended up staying in that McDonald's™ that night. I was worried about the monsters that roamed during the sun's slumber. But Starla reassured me that I would be ok. I told her about Erin that night. And how I forgot to tell him that I left. She said that Guardians like to stay away from each other. Because they don't want to "fuse." Fusion is when two Guardians give up their physical form. And combine together to make a big giant person. She said she had never fused or ever wanted to. But she does know that you don't control the fusion. It's like a whole new person. Which I thought was interesting. I learned a lot that day.

PLEASE NOTE: I did not make up fusion 😂 I give credit to the Cartoon Network show Steven Universe.
