"You cannot fear that which you cannot see."
It is exactly what we cannot see that we fear most. The unknown is man's largest and most common fear... fear of the unknown, the unseen. When small children are in the darkness of their rooms, they become afraid because there is nothing they can see which leads to them mentally creating something; a "monster" for example, is something created within the illusionary picnics of a juvenile mind.
