"Hey Angel!" Hillary said cheerily and flounced into Angel's grandad's bookshop. Hillary had a pink crop sweater and flowery high wasted skirt on, matched with knee high white socks and black heels. She had her lips painted a dramatic red.
Angel smiled. "Hey Hillary, you look pretty today."
Hillary grinned back at her and fell onto a chair in front of the bookrack marked Politics. She put her nude Zara bag on the ground next to her. "Thanks, so do you," she replied.
Angel grinned, knowing she does when wearing her blue long sleeve Polo dress and and ankle high grey heeled boots. She had a white beanie perched on top of her dirty blonde hair. Grinning like this at Hillary, she realized that her opening up skills truly improved.
"So, how've you been?" She asked, her head cocked to the side and her leg folded over the other, her hands resting on top of it. The girls shivered as a slight autumn breeze came through the entrance door. It was a month before winter.
Angel swallowed and looked down, shrugging.
Being scared, confused, angry and paranoid.
"Oh," she waves her off, "I've just been busy with school work, this work," she gestures around her, "and resting at home."
Hillary nodded her head and got up, grinning again. "Okay then, but we must hang out next week. I rate we go check out the sale at H&M."
Angel nodded. "Sounds like a plan." Angel felt guilty, since she used to do this with Dahlia, but promised herself it's just shopping with a new friend, not a best friend.
"I'll see you!" Hillary shouted as she skipped out of the shop.
Angel checked the watch on the wall behind her and realized that it's time to start packing up. She locked the till and bent down to grab her bag from the ground. She got up and let out a frightened squeal.
"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to scare you!" Brooklyn said, his hand in front of his mouth.
Angel shook her head and steadied her breathing again. "I remember when we used to laugh when one of us got a fright," she said.
Brooklyn looked down, his hands in the pocket of his business suite. He looked up and ran his hand through his dark hair. "I was wondering if you'd like to grab something to eat right now?"
Angel smiled and nodded her head. "That would be amazing actually," she said. "Let's go." She let him walk through the door first before locking it behind her and following him to his black Mercedes. She got in the front seat and grinned at him.
She took in his fancy black suite on his tanned skin. She smiled at his blue eyes standing out, concentrating on starting the car. She smiled at his dark hair slightly up in the air, like he just woke up.
He looked over at her and frowned. "What? What is it?"
Angel bit her lip. "You just look so professional, is all," she said.
He grinned and started driving out of his parking spot. "Well," he said, patting the part above the radio, "I feel professional." He winked.
Angel rolled her eyes and grinned. "Confidence never dies," she remarked.
With a mouth grinning wide, teeth dazzling white, Brooklyn sped away and Angel laughed with delight.
It wasn't too long until they reached a grand restaurant with red and white as its main colours. There were tables outside, but the people were mostly inside due to the chill air. The two of them got out the car and strolled towards the restaurant.
