I looked around the hallway floor and sighed.  Jace and Micheal were passed out on the floor in barely any clothing, there were beer bottles and cups over every inch of the floor, and what I couldn’t identify I just ignored. Landon’s door was wide open so I figured he was already downstairs or he left somewhere.  I went down to the kitchen to see Landon making coffee and Jake passed out on the island. “Good morning darling brother of mine”, I sang in a sing song voice.  He glared at me so I just decided to carefully walk by and go to the fridge for a monster. I heard a whistle so I turned around to find Jake checking out every inch of my body. “Lookin sexy as usual Lo my dear.” Before I could even respond, Landon was over at Jake and punching him in the stomach.

I couldn’t help but laugh at the shocked look on Jake’s face. “WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT FOR?!? “ “I told you NOT to hit on my baby sister.” I walked over to Landon and wrapped my arms around his waist. “Don’t worry Landon, Jakes just upset my standards aren’t low enough for him.” I smirked and watched as Jake tried to glare while he had a pained look. It was quite amusing. “Baby you just keep telling yourself you don’t want me.” “You wanna get punched again dude?” Jake shriveled away from Landon and went back to the counter to sulk.

Let me tell you a little about Jake. First of all he’s drop dead GORGEOUS. I know guys don’t like being called gorgeous but that’s what he is. Jake and Landon met when they were five, Jake moved in down the streets and our moms became instant friends. I was practically glued to Landon’s hip when Maddi wasn’t around so I got to know Jake. Up until my freshman year Jake just treated me like a little sister, but the summer before freshman year was when I finally started to develop and get rid of my 12 year old look, and I looked like an actual fifteen year old. Jake took notice fast and wasted no time hitting on me. Soon all of Landon’s friend took notice, and I was off limits. Jake became a player the minute he got into high school and he became an arrogant asshole. So we just started a love/hate relationship from that moment on.

We I sat down on the counter and started eating a poptart, when the front door closed. “You guys up yet?” I jumped down knowing that voice. “FRANKIEEE!” I rand and jumped into his arms and wrapped my legs around his waist. “Well good morning beautiful.” He kissed my forehead and I got down. “WHAT. THE. FUCK.” We all turned to Jake who looked pissed and insulted. “I can’t even flirt with your sister without getting internal bleeding, but Frankie can be all up on her.” I looked to my brother who was smirking. “Well, let me put it simply. Frankie doesn’t eye fuck my sister.” I laughed because it was completely true. Frankie was on the football team with my brother and he was probably the biggest sweetheart I’ve EVER met. He was a true gentleman. I had a thing for Frankie……and Jake. Even though I knew Frankie would end up being the better choice.

“LOBABY.” I had totally forgot Maddi would be here. I grabbed my bag off the counter and ran to meet her before she came to the kitchen and saw my brother. As I was slipping my shoes on I looked over and saw Maddi standing in the doorway. FUCK, too late now. Even though it had been awhile since the whole Maddi and Landon fiasco, they still didn’t know how to act around each other. I felt bad for Maddi, she was just standing there shifting on her feet staring at the ground and Landon was looking at anything besides her. Frankie, bless his heart, decided to break the silence. “So Maddi, what are you and Lo doing today?” She didn’t answer so I took this as a sign and I answered for her. “We’re going shopping. Be back around four.” I pulled Maddi out of the kitchen and when we got to the living room I remember how much of a mess the house was. “LANDON, CALL THE HOUSE CLEANERS AND GET THE HOUSE CLEAN BEFORE I GET HOME.” I know you might think were snobby, spoiled kids who can’t even clean a house by ourselves but I know Landon won’t be able to clean the entire house by himself. Plus the cleaners will know how to get stains out of the carpets. Me and Maddi got to her car and she just stood by the door while I was getting in. I knew she was still upset over Landon and I felt horrible. I knew she needed to be cheered up, and there was only one way I knew how to. Today was gonna be a long day.

So now I’m in my cousins’ bridal shop, trying on dozens of wedding gowns. Yeah, this is Maddi’s idea of fun. It’s not that I hate trying on designer wedding gowns, but I work here and when you help women in and out of wedding gowns all day, it gets kind of old. My cousin Lilly owns the shop and it’s one of the top 10 bridal shops in the world. I learned a long time ago this placed cheered Maddi up because whenever she tries on a gown her face lights up and she can’t stop smiling. Right now I was wearing one of my cousins creations, that she hid in a safe for me. She didn’t make the  dress for me, but the first time I tried it on she said it might as well have been made for me.

Maddi stepped out of the dressing room and stood on the platform in a sleek, figure fitting mermaid gown. “What do you think Lo darling?” She said in a horrible British accent. “I think you look positively divine Madison Hammilton.” She glared at me for using her full name. “But can we go shopping now Maddi, it’s already almost 12:30.” “Okay just let me get out of this. She went and got hers off while I hung up the ones we already tried on. About ten minutes later she was out and I decided to tell Lilly that we were leaving. I didn’t want to disturb her but I wanted to at least say goodbye. “Lilly were leaving. I’ll be here Monday at 9. I’ll bring breakfast.” I started to walk out when Lilly came running out. “LO WAIT! I’m not going to be here next week, I’m going to an expo for some new gowns and designers. I’m going to shut the store down for a week unless it’s an emergency situation. Corey and Ashley are going to run the shop.” Corey was Lilly’s fiancé and he was absolutely stunning. He looked like he walked out of a Calvin Klein ad and she looked like she walked out of a Victoria’s Secret ad. It was so unfair. “Okay, just have Corey or Ash call if they need help.” I hugged her and kissed her cheek.

I had  three people in my life I could tell EVERYTHING to; Maddi, Spencer, and Lilly. I could talk to my brother easily but there were just some things I couldn’t tell him, because then he’d get into over protective mode. Lilly was only 23 and she was mature enough to give me logical advice. She was like another mom to me since my mom and dad were always away on business. It’s not that I hated my parents or anything, we all actually had a good relationship. They weren’t too controlling and they didn’t yell at us. As long as we got good grades and we were good people, we were perfect to them.

“So, mall or the strip?” Maddi thought about it. “The mall. My closet already looks like some threw up Chanel and Gucci all over.” I laughed. Maddi’s mom was one of those people who only believed in labels. Knock offs were like saying a curse word in church to her mother. Whenever were in school Maddi normally gets ready at my house, that way she doesn’t have to wear the clothes her mom buys for her. My mom could care less what I wear, as long as I didn’t look like a slut. By the time we got to the mall I could tell Maddi was already in a better mood. In an hour we’d already hit American Eagle, Pacsun, and Wetseal. We decided to take a break and take our bags to the car and grab some subway at the food court. “LO! WAIT UP!” I stopped dead in my tracks. I knew that voice anywhere.
