"I'm going into the marines." He said into the phone. She stood there in disbelief even though he couldn't see it.
"When?" She said after swallowing the lump in her throat that was already growing again.
"Tomorrow but your the only one I wanted to call." He said softly.
"Oh." She didn't know what to say her best friend and the love of her life is leaving.
"I did want to tell you something before I go."
"Yeah?"
"I love you Liv."
"El.. You're with Kathy I can't let you ruin that." She said letting a tear slip.
"Kathy and I are over liv. I just wanted you to know that I love you" he said seriously.
"I love you too el." She said her voice cracking. After she hung up the phone she sat on her couch staring at it knowing that may be the last time she talks to him.
Over the next few months Olivia seemed to feel like she was in a living hell she was always sad hateful with everyone and cried like a baby in her bed thinking about Elliot. She lost weight and was looking paler. She kept everyone at arms length and kept everything strictly professional with everyone. Fin noticed and began to grow worried about her.
One night while laying in bed crying her phone rang. She picked it up without looking at the caller ID.
"Benson.." She snapped.
"Hey liv." She froze when she heard that voice. She hasn't heard it in months.
"El?" She asked sitting up.
"Yeah its me. I just got to a phone." He said.
"Are you okay" she asked biting her lip.
"I'm fine liv.. How are you doing?"
"I miss you." She said plainly. "I could really use a hug." She said honestly.
"And if I was there I would give you a hug."
"El.."
"Yeah?"
"Please tell me I'll get to see you again." She said unsteady.
"I promise liv. As soon as I'm in New York you will be the first to know"
"I love you El."
"I love you too liv."
For the rest of the year Elliot and Olivia continued to talk and grew closer and closer together. Olivia started to feel a bit better but still missed him. She was still underweight and still pale. She tried to work on it though.
Today while at the precinct she got a call and ran out without saying a word she drove to JFK international airport and started to frantically look through the crowd of travelers and families.
When her eyes met his they began to burn with tears. She started to walk then jog the ended up in a full on run trying to get to him. He was still in uniform and he dropped his bag when he saw her running to him.
Without caring who saw Olivia jumped into him. Wrapping her legs around his waist and hiding her face in his neck. He was surprised at how light she was and held her tighter. After hearing a few awes Olivia pulled her head up and did the bravest and boldest move of her life. She cupped his face and crashed her lips to his. He kissed her back after returning from his shocked state. One of his hands moved up her back and rested in her shoulder blades.
"I missed you so much" she said resting her forehead to his.
"I know I missed you too."
"I love you." She said running her thumb along his lower lip. She smiled when he kissed the pad of her thumb.
"I love you too baby."
