The Mysterious Horse Of Sable Island

Chapter 4

I was jolted awake by Ashley. I looked over at my clock and saw that it was 10:00am! Ashley said that I was so tired last night that I crashed right in the middle of the movie we were watching. We were watching The Longest Ride. The part that I actually got to watch was really good.

"Katie, I saw the horse again last night!! I didn't want to wake you because you were sooooooo tired." Ashley said.

"What one? The one that threw me off or the injured one?" I said.

"I saw them both together!!! That's the exciting part! Pretty soon I think the whole herd is going to be coming to see us! Wouldn't that be amazing?!?!" Ashley said, sounding very excited.

"Yeah, I guess it would be pretty cool..." I said.

"OK. Something's up. Tell me all about it." said Katie

"Um..... OK. I was just thinking that what if your parents tell the authorities that the horses keep coming to our house and then the authorities kill all the horses. What if that happens Katie?"

"Well, um... I'm not sure what we could do about that, but how about I talk to my mom and dad and ask them to keep it a secret. Would that make you feel any better?" said Katie

"That would be great! Thank you! That is why you were my best friend."

Katie and I hugged and went back to what we were doing. Which I don't remember what that was so I started doing something else.

---The next night--- (Katie's Dream)

"Come to me." a strange voice said. That's when I realize I'm in the woods surrounded by giant trees and I couldn't see anything but trees.

"Come to me." the strange voice said again, but it was closer this time.

I'm terrified of the woods especially since I'm surrounded by trees which doesn't help my fear of tight and small spaces. Then I hear the voice again, but this time it said my name. "Come to me, Katie."

I was determined to find out who was calling me. I wandered around, looking up in the trees and all around me. I am so scared right now and then, from out of nowhere came this hand that grabbed me from behind. I couldn't get a good look at the person, but I figured that if he/she is grabbing from behind and pulling me into the woods, it was obviously the one who owned the voice that was calling me. I kept screaming and screaming and then all of a sudden the person started shaking me. That's when I got a good look at the person and I figured out that it was a guy with hair as dark as the the night sky, eyes as golden as a dandelion and skin as pale as dry sand. Then, the man stopped shaking me as unexpected as it started.

I jolted awake to see Ashley and her mom and dad looking at me with fear. They must have heard me screaming and came running in to see what the problem was. I realized then that Ashley was the one shaking me. I looked over at the clock and saw that it was 1:00pm. I instantly got out of bed and ran downstairs to get lunch. When I was making it, I realized that I was really hungry. I was also still thinking about the dream. What if it came true? I had no idea that what was about to happen could ever happen to anyone in the whole world.
