Wiping the sweat from her brow, she rolled her chair away from the man. His rigorous tests had frazzled her more than the previous ones. More than anything, she wanted him gone.
"These test prove that you haven't improved, what's the issue?" The man asked.
"I've told you, I'm tired, you can't give me these tests daily and expect me to do well on them, Sir." The girl responded.
The man gave a stern look, his fat face squishing together more than usual, indicating that he was not impressed with her response. "I expect better scores tomorrow, if I do not receive what I have asked there will be punishment."
The girl simply ignored his snide remarks and stared out one of the huge glass walls that confined her.
She hadn't really wondered what was beyond those glass walls for the first 15 years of her life, but now was different. Those other people...who were they? She knew them by no name, only by the colour of their gowns, and their hair. Then again, she knew herself by no name either, only 'dear' and 'sweet', things father would call her when he came in to check up on her.
She failed to acknowledge it, but she knew these other people by something other than their gowns and hair, she knew their screams. The other girl, she had short black hair and wore a pale blue gown, had a  high pitched scream, more of a shrill. The boy with the brown hair who wore a yellow gown didn't like to scream, he only made angry noises, that usually ended with grunts. The other boy, the one with yellow hair and a blue gown had low pitched whines, they scared her.
"Girl! I've been calling at you for two minutes! Pay attention!" The doctor snapped.
"Oh, I'm sorry Sir. I'll pay attention from now on"
"You say that each day! And look at your scores!"
Suddenly the girl burst into tears. "Please don't shout at me!" She begged.
The doctor rolled his eyes and left, he was used to this kind of behavior from that particular patient. She'd always been difficult to deal with. He turned down the bleach white hallway, and inched himself into Doctor Adrian's office, terrified to share his results.
"Speak" Doctor Adrian's voice boomed through the echoey room.
"S-sir..." The doctor stuttered, "I've just come to share my results on Subject 2991's mind capacity tests."
"The mind capacity tests...oh yes!" Doctor Adrian's eyes seemed to light up, "yes tell me how my favorite subject is doing."
"Sir, she seems to resist the serum, as if she refuses to give us information-"
He was cut off by Adrian. "Are you saying she, a small child is resisting one of the most powerful serums in United States history? Doctor Mallack, I believe if you can't get information out of her your service is no longer needed!" Adrian shouted.
Doctor Mallack cringed, "Sir she's 18, the child serums no longer work on her, on any of them for that matter! I've told you I need different solutions!"
"Well obviously the old ones aren't working...we will get you new serums Mallack, but be warned, if they don't work your employment will be terminated."
