Hey guys!

This is my very first try at writing. I hope that this won't cause any confusion, thanks for giving this story a chance!!!

BTW, please do comment!!! They are very much appreciated :D

"Don't, please don't," I whimper, I shoot straight out of my bed, sweating hard. After since my mom mysteriously disappeared, and my dad got murdered, I have been living on my own, hunting to survive, and I keep dreaming of a Shadow, holding a long sword that's on fire, ready to swing it at me... I haven't been able to sleep well, only once or twice in a week do I get real sleep. After I finish dressing, I take my slingshot out to the forest for a hunt. After I trek inside the forest, it was not long before my gaze settles on a fat squirrel sitting on a tree, I wait patiently until the squirrel climbs down to the ground to find nuts, I take aim of the squirrel and crouch waiting until it stops for a second, then I let the stone fly. The stone hits squarely on the spine of the small creature, it squeals once then goes still, dead. I say my thanks to God and take the squirrel to trade it with the trader for some breakfast and money. I sprint back home as soon as I finish trading, taking my breakfast and bag before racing to school. When I get to the classroom, no one has arrived yet, so I sit down on my seat and take out my book to read. The door creaks open and then, the bully Carl Smith comes in, he's a little bigger than me, strongly built and have five followers. He always calls me Jasper waffle, it's never Jasper Wizard, never. I try to pretend that I didn't see him, but he comes towards me and "accidently" bumps me in the face. "Oops sorry! Did that hurt?" he asks, smirking without any sign of apology. He never fails to annoy me, anger builds in me but I don't say a word to him and kept on my reading. The classroom starts to fill with students before the bell rings, signaling the start of the first class, my favorite subject, science. Our science teacher comes in with her usual greeting "good morning class" and a few replies "good morning" others either grunt or just don't bother replying, the class goes on and we did some experiences based on today's topic: gravity. Carl drops a stone on my best buds-John Carper-foot, causing him yelp in pain and curse. "Watch where you put your stone, you stupid..." he pause as he saw Carl towering over him.

"You were saying?" Carl asks coldly, "nnn...nothing, I was just asking Emma for a piece oo...of paper, right Emma?" John stammers, Emma Wilson takes in what is happening, takes out a piece of paper from her notebook and replies swiftly "Yes, he did" handing the paper to John. "Thanks" he whispers to her, she nods and continue on her work.

"Well, good luck with those notes of yours, Johnny," he says smiling wickedly as he walks to his table.

I walk over to John, "You alright?"

His shoulder sag, "Yeah sure, thanks."

I pat his shoulder twice before walking back to my own table. The bell rings shortly after we finish our experiments, the next class is social studies.

After we find our own seat, the teacher walks in, saying nothing until he walks onto the platform.

"Turn to page 64. Today we are going to talk about the culture around the world, starting from the west, Asian. Has anyone heard about China?"

Pssh, who hasn't? All raise their hands.

"Thank you, now you can put your hands down," he says, "China is the third biggest country in the world, does anyone know anything in America related to China?"

Eric Sand raises his hand.

"Chinatown." Huh, isn't that obvious.

"Correct, Mr. Sand. Does anyone know what most Asians usually eat rice with?"
