Patient number 1895 'John Hamish Watson' was placed without choice into our care by a Mycroft Holmes whom detailed the patient had threatened suicide by hanging and had been engaging in suicidal and self harm actions. Mycroft Holmes disclosed to us Mr. Watson had become depressed ever since the death of a friend (Sherlock Holmes; coincidentally Mycroft Holmes younger brother). Mr. Watson refused to speak to us about the matter, in fact he spoke very little at all. We gave Mr. Watson an assignment to write down his feelings everyday for a week. We hoped to gain some insight through the entries as he refused to speak to us. The following are the entries Mr. Watson submitted to us.
Entry 1
I thought I saw you with the riding whip. But it was only a look alike. Nothing but a vision trick under the warning light. He was close, close enough to be your ghost. But my chances turned to toast when I asked him if I could call him your name.

Entry 2
I thought I saw you reading a book. Huddled up in my favourite chair. I wandered up for a closer look. I kissed who ever was sitting there. He was close and he held me very tightly, till I asked awfully politely, please, can I call you his name?

Entry 3
I elongated my lift home. Yeah I left him go the long way round. I smelt your scent on the seatbelt, and I kept my shortcuts to myself.

Entry 4
I thought I saw you at Baker Street, messing with the smoke alarm. It was too loud for me to hear her speak, and she had a broken arm. It was close, so close that the walls were wet, and she wrote it out in letraset. No you can't call me his name.

Entry 5
Tell me where's your hiding place, I'm worried I'll forget your face. And I've asked everyone, I'm beginning to think I imagined you all along.

Entry 6
I elongated my lift home. Yeah I left him go the long way round. I smelt your scent on the seatbelt, and I kept my shortcuts to myself.

Entry 7
I saw your brother at the corner store on the phone to the middle man. When I saw that he was on his own, I thought he might understand. He was close, well you couldn't get much closer. He said I'm really not supposed to, but yes, you can call me anything you want.

After examining the journal entries both individually and as a whole we determined patient 1895 John Watson is experiencing hallucinations in which he sees his deceased friend Sherlock Holmes. Mycroft Holmes indulged to us the only way he got John Watson to agree to come see us was if he allowed Mr. Watsom too believe he was in fact the deceased. As a whole and complete psychiatric team we suggest intense psycho therapy and anti psychotic drugs.
SHERLOCK. YOU ARE LOSING HIM.
PLEASE TELL HIM YOU ARE ALIVE
BEFORE ITS TOO LATE.
