'So you want to hear another story, huh? How about a good one, about this kid named Lui Calibre.' Pablo said, not even waiting for the kids sitting in front of him to react.
'You see, Lui was a kid just like you. Well, almost like you. His parents didn't leave him alone with a crazy psycho for the rest of his life. No, his parents loved him.
The kid, Lui, liked to play behind their house in the garden, especially in the sandbox. He believed that if he brings a gummy bear there and dig it into the sand, the magical gummy worm will appear one day. And so, he put at least one gummy bear there everyday, in hopes that the Gummy Worm really exists. He also liked to talk to this Gummy Worm, even if it didn't talk to him back. He only wanted it to not be scared of him once it appears. Plus he wanted to become friends with the Gummy Worm.
Of course, Lui had many friends when he was younger, so he liked to invite them over to his sandbox. However, when he told them about the Gummy Worm they only made fun of him because they thought he was crazy, they thought he was only making that up and they thought it would be funny to laugh at him.
After all, when high school came, Lui decided not to tell anyone. Although he still put gummy bears in the old sandbox, he wasn't sure if anyone would understand him. But he practiced his squeaky voice, one of the things that made him unique, only because of the Gummy Worm. He didn't have much time to talk to the Gummy Worm, plus it would be weird to see a teenager talk to "himself" while sitting in a sandbox for little kids, that's why the gummy worm wouldn't recognize him. But once it shows up, he'll talk to it in his squeaker voice just like he did when he was a little kid.
Now, Lui wasn't the one for surprises. That's why he was always the one who invited his friends over when he had his birthday party. His birthday was actually on the 4th of July but because of the Independence day, he had his birthday parties a few days later.. He didn't expect much from them, just their presence was enough to make his day. But of course, the cake should not be missing on such an important day. And that's exactly what he forgot to do. He forgot to pick up the cake from the bakery.
He looked at the clock, seeing he still had time until his friends Marcel, Arlan and Scotty would arrive. His mother wanted to help him but Lui insisted on going to the bakery alone. He sat on his bike and rode like Sonic down the street, right in front of the bakery. The baker was just leaving but Lui instantly stopped him: "Mr Peters!" he accidentally said in his squeaker voice before correcting himself, "Mr Peters, sorry for being so late but I completely forgot about the cake and.."
"It's okay Lui, don't rush yourself. I'll give you the cake in just a moment." Mr Peters, the baker, smiled at Lui before going back into the building. And while Lui waited for his vanilla coated cake filled with strawberry jam, his friends slowly but surely were coming towards his house.
It was Lui's father who opened the front door for them, inviting them in. The sun was slowly setting in the distance, but the evening remained warm from July's sweet weather, warm enough for them to stay in the garden.
They sat down behind the wooden table, talking on and about their lives and how much they're excited for the cake. While Marcel and Scotty were talking, Arlan saw something in the sandbox. Something small, but big enough to reflect the sunshine. It definitely caught Arlan off, so he went to see what this mysterious thing was.
Lui was speeding off on his bike, careful enough not to let the cake fall out of the basket in the front. He left his bike on the side of their house, next to the garage, and with his hands full he walked to the front door where he had to use his elbow to ring the doorbell. After a few seconds, his mother opened the door, instantly taking the cake from his hands and saying: "Your friends are already in the garden. You can join them while I cut the cake."
"Thanks mom." said Lui, already running off towards the garden. But before he could even open the back door, there was screaming and shouting heard from the back: "Aaah!! Get me out! Guys! Pleaseeee!" he recognized the voice to be Arlan's, and he knew he was right once he got out into the garden.
He could not believe what was happening outside. He thought he was dreaming so he pinched himself, but what was in front of him was true as the fact that his name was Lui. There it was, the giant Gummy Worm, eating Arlan alive.
"Gummy worm!" Lui shouted in his squeaker voice, resulting in the Gummy Worm to turn around to face him. It couldn't actually see him, but it could hear him and sense his presence, "Put my friend down, Gummy Worm!" And as Lui said so, it did put Arlan down on the ground, half of him wet from its saliva however.
"You can't eat them, Gummy Worm. They're my friends!" said Lui, coming closer towards the Gummy Worm.
"Lui, you have to kill it!" said Marcel, taking a few steps back because of how close they were to it. Still in his squeaker voice, he said: "But I don't want to. I became friends with the Gummy Worm!"
"Oh my god," Scotty said to himself, trying to hold in his laugh, "Just promise it won't eat us and we won't kill it." Lui smiled, nodding his head before running towards the Gummy Worm to envelope it in a big hug. Surprisingly, it didn't try to eat him which made Lui even happier.
And since then, Lui and his Gummy Worm became the new definition of best friends forever.
The End.
So, how did you like that, kids?'
'It was terrible.' some girl in the back said, instantly having a seizure from Pablo's glare.
'Someone else?'
