The day started early, before the rooster even made a small noise. Lucifer was called outside. His sword resting on the table near the door. Grabbing it on the way out he let out a soft sigh. His body sore from the first day of flight, he looked at Death with an annoyed look.
Death chuckled waving him along to a low level demon, a demon barely able to fight with its firsts. Death said with a faint cooling whisper, "attack it, kill it and come back to me to continue." Just nodding still half asleep Lucifer did as he was told. Terrible, his posture was unbalanced, his sword as crooked. Death shook his head observing him. As Lucifer started to fight, he looked like he was mimicking the demon who at this point started to laugh. The laugh rattled in Lucifer's head.
"Shut up...shut up...shut up," he mumbled. His wings forced out, his eyes turning red. His blade now glowing infamously black, moving faster, appearing behind the demon his blade piecing through the chest. Pulling up towards the demons head he killed it cleanly, a clean mark like an heated blade brought up through the demons body. Lucifer started to laugh and the corpse, he was no longer the same. He was much more demonic.
Death walked over sheathing Lucifer's sword. Lucifer sighed and looked away as he slowly turned normal, his eyes turning brown. "Dumbass, how could you lose your control on a low level demom," Death yelled as he grabbed the blade from the young man. Death grabbed Lucifer by his collar and threw him onto the ground, the ground still damp from the dew in the morning, Lucifer got up punching Death hard. "Boy, your picking a bad fight, I suggest you stop. Before you wake up dead," he whispered out.
"I can best you any day Death," Lucifer said arrogantly.
"You're so nieve," Death shook his head annoyed. "Common then, no weapons," the word that made Lucifer cringe. Death moved first behind Lucifer, without thinking Lucifer moved out of the way.
"You must move faster then that," he teased. Each move Death made wasn't in rage but in the fact, this is his traning, using his own body. Lucifer countered every move, as the sun faded behind ominous clouds. A storm, rain started to pour, yet the fight continued. Both men getting tired, panting, Death smirked. "Is that all you got boy," he went to disrespect Lucifer.
"Only in your dreams old man," retorted Lucifer. Both of them as strong and as stubborn as bulls, ran at each other again. As hours passed by, slowly the storm went quickly. The finally the fight ended both men, Lucifer laying face first pushing himself onto his back, Death pushing himself up. "I'll still kick your ass old man," he smiled and laughed.
"Nice try hot shot," he laughed. Death helped Lucifer up. Pulling Lucifer onto his feet, he stumbled and staggered to keep balance, Lucifer went to walk back to his house. As inside the apartment, Elizabeth was watching. She chuckled as she saw Lucifer tie with Death.
"Welcome home," she teased him. He sighed placing his boots at the door, his eyes tired and groggy, yawning Lucifer sat on the couch. "You okay, you tied with Death. Good job," she smiled and was getting her shoes on "I'm going to the store," Elizabeth walked out of the apartment and now was on her way to the small grocery store.
Screaming loudly as she dropped all her groceries, she wished he was there to protect her. "Lucifer," she sold in tears before she was muffled by the large gorilla looking man.
"Sorry man, she's mine," Lucifer said kicking the large man hard in the side. Being sent flying away into the small racks of canned food. "Don't touch her," he said protectively pulling her close. His arm wrapped around her and the man groaned. Barely able to move from the hit. He just laid there. "Shall we finish," he whispered picking up their groceries. Elizabeth nodded and started to walk to the produce section.
As they got home both their stomachs growled. He let her lay down and relax on the bed, he did some basic cooking. As he finished he fed her in bed. Eating after she was done. "At least tomorrow Death is giving us a day off," he said mumbling as he fed her. She did nothing but nod half asleep. He cleaned the dishes. Soon both were asleep, Lucifer was back on the couch she was on the bed. With only a few seconds the cuts and bruises along his face and body, were slowly starting to heal.
The night as quiet and wings softly howling, Lucifer found no trouble to close his tired eyes, time an illusion he thought. He was having a late night thought until he was passed asleep, he liked to think of philosophy. "Time an illusion perfected by Death," he mumbled before closing his eyes, finally asleep.
