We reached the venue right on time. As usual, we were greeted by none other than Adam Carter. I kept staring at his face, so stern and firm. He looked at me, almost engulfing me in his aquamarine green eyes.
Ariel, on the other hand, left no stone unturned in flirting with him. Gosh. I don't know how she does it.
We quickly took out seats to watch the runway. It was another of those fancy runways of my aunt, which are loved by all but just aren't my type.
At the end of the show, everyone gave my aunt a standing ovation.
Okay, she actually did do a pretty great job.
After the show, I find myself at the bar all by myself ofcourse. Aunt Lily is too busy getting congratulated for her tremendous work. Ariel is talking to her only crush, Adam, right across from where I stand. I can't help but stare at how perfectly lean his body is.
I definitely understand why girls go gaga over him.
He catches me staring and glances at me. Eye contact. Shit.
Those green eyes that feel like they're trying to discover my soul deep down...even the parts that I haven't discovered myself.
I instantly look away and face the bartender, clutching the glass of beer in my hand, pearly beads of sweat on my tanned forehead, my dark brown eyes producing phosphenes.
He just gets to me. All. The. Time.

I suddenly felt as if my intestines were twisting up over each other and I wanted to throw up...and oh, the world was revolving around me. I can't even figure out the bartender infront of me as he says,
"Ma'am are you okay?"
I blinked a few times and what happened next, I really don't remember.
I slowly wake up to find myself in strong arms, with a scent that is so recognizable..and then I look up at his face.
Adam. I'm in Adam's arms. Great.
Aunt Lily and Ariel are on either sides of Adam and I still feel so sick, I want to throw up.
I can't throw up on him.
Oh my god. It's coming.
I quietly say, "Can you please put me down?"
Adam looks at me. I don't even know why he does that. Everytime he does that, it just gets worse.
He immediately puts me down and there it goes. I find a dustbin nearby and in no time, it's all flooded with my vomit.
Can my life get any worse?
I don't want to see him, Aunt Lily or even Ariel.
I just want to bury myself somewhere and never come back to this dreadful place.
Thankfukly our house is just near, so I don't have to go through the pain of being in his arms again.
As Aunt Lily and Ariel hold my hands on either sides, Adam comes forward and says, "Take Care Bella."
Idiot. Creep. You're the reason why this happens.
Keeping my emotions aside, I just look away and move on to my house.
As Ariel and Aunt Lily help me to my bed, I lay on the covers, staring at the ceiling, staring into space.
I miss mom and dad. I wish they were here.
I feel tears welling up in my eyes and I reach for my parents picture.
I stare at them. I stare at how happy they were. How happy I was.
They wouldn't be proud to see me crying. Dad hated when I cried. My parents were brave people.
So, I let the tears fall and I hear the quiet whispers of Aunt Lily and Ariel outside.
Keeping my parents picture close to my chest, keeping all the memories close to my heart as they flood through my brain, I don't even realise that I've fallen asleep.
×........................................................×I wake up and my head still hurts from yesterday's drama.
I go up to the breakfast table and I find Aunt Lily surrounded by the aroma of cooked eggs.
"Bella! How are you dearie?"
She rushes up to me, gently placing her hand on my forehead.
"Jesus! You still have a fever!"
I shake my throat. "I'm really alright."
Although I'm lying. I've gotten pretty good at lying since the past two years.
I see Aunt Lily fidgeting and I understand that there's some ring on her mind. Unlike me, she's pretty bad at hiding her emotions. My dad used to call her a blabbermouth.
"What is it Aunt Lily? Just spill the beans!"
She looks at me and sits on the chair right across me, reaching for my hand.
"Look Bella, I know life hasn't been good to you since the last two years and I would be wrong to tell you to forget about it. Well, you have to move on."
I can feel the anger rising in my throat. "I lost my parents."
She looks at me straight in the eye, her hazel eyes filled with worry.
"Bella, you're a teenager. Your parents would never want you to spend your teen so miserably. I want you to come out of your shell. You know that Ariel is going to Dubai for the New Year Celebration right?"
Oh no. I know what's coming next, but I don't want to believe it. No. No.
She sighs. "Bella, I've booked you a ticket and you will go with her. Period."
This is too much. I stand up, hitting my fist on the table.
"There's no way I'm going to Dubai for New Year! I haven't celebrated any event for the past two years and I will continue not to! "
My parents aren't here with me. I will never celebrate. They died just a day before New Year's Eve. I hate new Year. I hate everything.
I burst into tears and rush into my room.
I can't betray my parents by celebrating events.
I can't even believe that she actually thought I would consider it.
