I woke up that morning, alive with excitement. It was Saturday, and the day I would finally meet the strange girl. I had worked out the plan as I slept. I had seen her leave the previous day, that's why I'd gotten home so late, I waited for her to go first. Luckily she didn't live far from my house so it all worked out.
I hurriedly munched on a granola bar and slipped into some pants. I had slept in till about 10 in the morning and didn't want to risk missing her. I pulled a hoodie over my shirt and slapped my favourite baseball cap on my head. Girl of my dreams, here I come!
I remembered exactly where I had watched her go to last night and wrote it down when I got home,
"Okay, 279 Pinetree Lane, here I come!" I announced, head held high.
"Joshie? Is that you? Where are you going?" I heard my mom call from the kitchen, she must have come down after I ate otherwise I would have seen her.
"Yeah, mom! It's me! I'm going to visit Mike!" I responded impatiently,
"I'll see you later!" I opened the door stepped out side and shut it noisily behind me.
"Where was it I was going again?" I asked myself,
"Oh right 279 Pinetree Lane!" I smiled checking the note I had shoved in my pocket.
After about 10 minutes of walking, I reached my destination. But what I saw was not what I had expected to see at all.
