Raven was sitting on the floor in the bathroom, overwhelmed by nausea. This was the third time this week she was in the bathroom feeling like her stomach was working in reverse, and it never ended well.
The part that truly bothered her was that she hardly ever got sick, so it was definitely not normal for her to be next to the toilet ready to toss her cookies.
She tried to relax to see if she could avoid it, but her plan obviously failed as the previous day's meal was no longer inside her. Once she was done, she breathed heavily, running a hand through her hair. She heard the door open suddenly behind her.
"Raven?"
She turned slowly, afraid to move too quickly. Nightwing stood at the door, his unmasked eyes concerned.
He knew she hadn't been feeling good lately, but this was getting out of hand.
He sat down behind her, holding her hair away from her face as she emptied her stomach into the water of the porcelain seat.
He felt her muscles collapse as she fell into him. She groaned, her head in his lap. He touched his hand to her forehead, frowning in concern.
"You don't have a fever. Usually you would if it were a bug."
She didn't move, her body ached. She could barely turn her head to look at him.
"I hate this. And I don't even know what it is."
"I don't know what to say, Rae. I am worried, though. Maybe you should see a doctor?"
She shook her head, her hands gripping his sides as she pulled herself up, sitting in his lap.
"No. I don't want to."
He sighed, tucking a stray piece of hair behind her ear.
"What if you're really sick, Rae?"
"I'm not."
"You can't even use your powers to fix yourself."
"How do you know?"
He raised a brow at her, trying to keep from rolling his eyes.
"You would've healed yourself by now."
She ended up rolling her eyes, giving him the satisfaction of knowing her was right.
"You need help getting to your bed?"
He brushed off her cold stare, helping her up. She was on her feet, ready to walk, but her legs gave out.
She was so tired from staying up the past three nights throwing up. She wanted nothing more than to lay down and have him read to her.
Her thoughts were interrupted when she felt her feet lift off the ground.
Nightwing had her in his arms, bridal style. She didn't even reject him. She was too tired. She just let him take her out of her bathroom to her bed.
Nightwing set Raven down on her bed, brushing her hair out of her face. He sat down next to her on the bed, gazing at her concerned.
"The big question is, if it's not a bug, then what is it?"
Raven tried to think of what it could be that was ailing her. It obviously wasn't a bug, and it couldn't have been food poisoning, so the million dollar question was, what's wrong with Raven?
Suddenly she remembered one night a few weeks back with her and Nightwing. The two of them had decided to go further than the usual heavy make out. As she remembered this particular night, a feeling of dread settled in her stomach.
