The Joker

Jimmy was a sweet guy, but he never took anything serious! Nevertheless, you loved him anyway. And not just the friend love. If this boy asked you to give him your kidney, you say yes without a second thought. Now, the only thing was get your classmate to notice you and fall in love with you. No big deal right? You play off your infatuation until Jimmy comes up to you one day.

"Hey cutie, whatcha doin'?" He asks.

"Hey, Jimmy. I'm currently standing. What about you? And I'm not cute, by the way." You answer.

"Bullshit. You're a beautiful girl and you know that. Anyway, I need some advice. Being like my best friend, I thought you'd be able to help me out?" He replies, gently pushing you.

"Okay, what do you need hun?" You ask.

Jimmy sighs softly, "Well, ya see.... there's this girl. I really like her and I wanna make a move but I don't know how or what to do!"

Your heart drops a little. You should've seen this coming.... "Just tell her, Jimmy. If she's smart, she'll know how amazing you are and how much you like her. Just be your naturally charming self and melt like a hot knife through butter." You say with a sad smile.

Jimmy perks up a little, "You think so? Should I ask her out?"

You nod your head yes, and say goodbye so you can go home. You don't really want to see anyone right now.

Just a few minutes later you collapse on your bed, angry and heartbroken. No matter how hard you tried, you couldn't stop the tears from falling.

'Shit,' You think to yourself, 'Why am I crying?? I knew Jimmy was outta my league. I knew this was coming some day....'

Suddenly, your phone buzzes with a text. It's everyone's favourite joker, Jimmy.

Joker: Dude, where are you?
You: I'm in my room at home.... why?
Joker: Walk outside. Like right now! I'm gonna die if you don't.

So you set the phone down and walk out the front door. Jimmy is in the driveway sitting on the hood of his car. He jumps up the moment he sees you.

"Hey..." he says slowly and nervous.

"Hi Jimmy. What are you doing here? I thought you were gonna go ask that girl out." You reply within looking at him.

"That's why I'm here...... I've been in love with you for almost our entire friendship. Please, please... say you'll be my girlfriend?" He looks at you with tears in his eyes as he takes your hands.

Your eyes fill with tears and you can't breath. This is the best day of your life. You're speechless so all you can do is nod yes. Jimmy gets the biggest smile you've ever seen on his face and he wraps you in a hug.

When he sets you down, you both lock eyes. He glances at your lips, then back to your eyes. Slowly and gently, he grabs your face in his hands and leans in to kiss you. The moment your lips connect, it's like magic. It was better than the movies. In your head, the fireworks were going off and people were cheering. There was confetti. You feel Jimmy smile against your mouth, so you return the smile. Things could never be better.
