I'm gonna defeat him.
Those were Hinata's words after his loss from his first and last Volleyball tournament in middle school. He promised himself that he will win against the so called, "King of the Court". He was with high hopes as he graduated from middle school. He went to a school where his idol, The Small giant, has studied and played his highschool volleyball dreams. Karasuno High School was one of the power house schools in Miyagi Perfecture, but they suddenly fell down to the ground like a helpless crow. They are now called The fallen Champions.
Hinata was happy on his first day in Karasuno, "Finally! I enrolled at a school with an official volleyball team!". He ran to the school gym where the volleyball practice will be happening. He was so happy, "I will train my hardest to become like The small giant!". He finally saw the gym door. He stopped before opening the door and said, "And when I get better at volleball, I will defeat that King of.."
While opening the door, he saw a tall guy with black pin straight hair, practicing serves.
"Huuuuuhhh??!"
The other guy was distracted, and they looked at each other with a surprised face.
"W..why are you here?!" Hinata said,
"What? I'm practicing, dumbass."
"You're in.. karasuno too??!"
"Tch, Doesn't it look obvious dumbass?"
"No! How can I defeat you if we're on the same team! And stop calling me dumbass!"
"Tch, dumbass"
As they were getting pissed off with each other, 3 men entered the gym.
"What are you doing? First years? Huh? Causing some trouble? Dammit" said the intimidating guy with a shaved head.
"Tanaka, don't scare the first years. Right Daichi?" said the kind looking guy with gray hair.
"Yeah Suga, we are here to welcome our precious first years" said the guy with short dark hair.
Hinata stopped and looked at his senpai's. They approached the other guy like they did not notice Hinata was there.
"So introduce yourself" said Daichi,
"I'm Kageyama Tobio, from Kitagawa Daiichi High, my volleyball position is setter"
"We already know your basic info's though, we watched your tournament last year" said Sugawara.
"Yeah, your sets were amazing bro" said Tanaka.
While they were busy interviewing Kageyama. Hinata shouted, "Hey!"
"Oh, I'm sorry. You must be Hinata?" Daichi said.
"Yes, I'm Hinata Shouyou. Nice meeting you!" He bowed.
"I maybe small, but I will do my best! And I will be defeating you!" He pointed his finger at Kageyama.
"You? Going to defeat me? Huh. You know you're weak right"
"I am not the same person last year"
"Hey guys, you're team mates now you know" Daichi said
They ignored Daichi, Kageyama dared Hinata to a one on one volleyball game.
They got into position and Kageyama was first to serve the ball, he jump served the ball. Hinata was so surprised of his strength. 'Woah, this guy's awesome'
They continued to ignore Daichi stopping them, until he got full of them.
He shouted, "Thats enough! I can't accept you two if you don't get along together!"
He pulled them out of the gym and handed them their application forms,
"I wont let you guys join the team until you two get along with each other". The captain closed the door for them.
"This is all your fault dumbass!"
"What? It was you who dared me into that match!"
"Tch!"
After hours of clashing, they got tired of each other. The two were just staring inside the window as the other volleyball team members were practicing. Hinata was so restless,
"Argh! I want to play volleyball so bad!"
Hinata looked at Kageyama leaning on the wall, he was dripping with sweat.
"Wow, this guy wants to play so bad too, he's holding back too much".
To be honest, his skills are really good. That jump serve was so amazing. He's an awesome person.
As Hinata realized he was praising his rival, he shaked his head.
No, he's my enemy. But how can I defeat him if we're on the same side of the court?
"Aaaarrhhgh!"
"Oy! Could you quiet down! You're too noisy, dumbass!"
Kageyama said to him, while he is holding back his urge to play.
This guy is short, but he has great reflexes. Maybe I can use him..
"Alright! Lets practice on our own!" Kageyama said,
"What?"
"Lets practice on our own at the school grounds, I can't waste my time doing nothing."
"Huh?? Ok?" Hinata said.
They went to the field, They practiced volleyball. At first they did not sync with each other, but as time goes by, they improve themselves as partners.
"Ack! Sorry i didn't get that" hinata said,
Was my toss too high? I still can't read his actions..
"Oy! How can we get along if you can't recieve my tosses, dumbass!" Kageyama said.
"How can we get along together if you're always calling me dumbass!"
It was already 6pm. Daichi and Suga were walking home and they saw Hinata and Kageyama still practicing.
"Hey Daichi, don't you think its too much? Should we accept them already and help them get along?"
"No, they will do fine. Let's just mind our own business now, Suga"
Suga smirked at Daichi.
"Well, if you say so, Captain."
