'Doesn't trust men'

Her head was aching and her eyes were burning, plus she wasn't completely sure whether it was normal for letters to be doing the Gagnam-dance across the screen like that. She had been trying to look for any type of methods or ideas to get Divan to feel safer around her, or even just figure out what's going on.

"Any luck?" Elizabeth asked as she walked in, holding a tray of food. Both had stayed overnight at the sentrum, searching the internet, articles, books, files and any other possible source for anything on Divan's condition and how to help him.

"No," Taylor sighed. "It's like he's a medical mystery or something- well, in a psychological way."

"Don't you watch all those crime shows, and try to guess the answer before them? Haven't you learned anything that could help us?"

Taylor only sighed, frustrated. "There's usually some physical evidence of abuse. You already said he didn't even have any wounds when he was found."

It was quiet for a minute as both brainstormed. He had clearly been hurt, but not physically. He felt safer in the dark, hated touching people but didn't mind someone feeding him.

"We haven't had a chance to test him for any mental disorders yet," Elizabeth spoke up, but Taylor only shook her head.

"No, that can't be it. Doesn't he seem too...quick for that? He figures things out lightning-fast and he's incredibly sensitive to detail and even emotion."

She rubbed her chin in thought, her over-intelligent brain already getting off track: "Why do men get to have goatees, but we don't? How are we supposed to look cool when we're thinking?!"

Liz made a confused face, thrown by her friend's randomness.

"What??"

Both burst out laughing, unable to stop as the endless work from the past few days planted a tiny seed of insanity in their heads (of course, for Taylor it would be just another tree to the forest- we all know she's flat out crazy, and we absolutely love her for it!)

When they eventually calmed themselves, silence took over the room for a minute before Elizabeth loudly perked up with an idea, making Taylor jump: "Hey! I know who could help us. He's a specialist in all this mental stuff, he'll know what to do."

"Do you think he'll be in yet?" she asked, checking her watch.

"Sure," Liz replied. "He's real hardworking and likes coming to work early. I'll go see if I can find him." Without waiting for an answer, she zipped out of the dark room. Taylor shook her head. Her friend had seemed way too excited to go fetch someone for help; that girl was planning something.

A light whimper pulled her attention to the monitor. Her poor boy had been plagued with nightmares all night, quietly crying and squirming as he sat curled up in a ball in the corner. What was he dreaming about? Was he thinking about his past, or other things that scare him?

She wondered what he would be scared of if he would go and live in a normal home, with a normal life. Spiders? Snakes?

Would he prefer a nightlight? Would he run into her room at night, afraid of imaginary monsters under his bed?
