He was kind. There was nothing much was said in the cave. I remember just sitting there, staring at the cave floor. He looked over at me, and spoke. I didn't hear what he said.".... raining again."
I looked outside. It's raining again. That's what he said. He didn't get up. I didn't either. There wasn't much to say.
Silence enveloped us. Thick, it was suffocating. I don't know when he got up, but it was after a long while. Then he sat next to me.
"It's gotten cold." He said. Robbie looked out of the cave and into the distance, his breath fogging up the air for moments.
"Yeah." I replied. I looked at him, studying him.
He looked.. better. Not as much acne. His hair was shorter too. Not by much but. I don't know what he looks like now.. but he looks good back then.
I remember leaning into him. For warmth, I thought. He put an arm around me. It was a comfortable silence. The rain was the only sound we needed. Then the thunder started, loud and alarming. I jumped and let out an... unmanly yelp, I'll admit. Robbie snickered at me. I went scarlet.
"Shut up."
"I didn't say anything." He said, an actual smile on his face. It was.. nice to see a smile. I thought it looked good on his face. "Are you afraid of the rain, dippy?"
I frowned and pushed at his shoulder, to no avail, but it didn't matter. I wasn't pushing him away. I.. wanted him closer.
"No! No. It's just— it was loud!" I defended. It was childish, but I didn't think so back then.
Robbie laughed again, and moved to pull me back into his arms. He was very warm. I didn't feel a need to struggle, or to push him away.
"Whatever you say. It's just a little rain."
