Lights flickered on and off throughout the building...Many of the testing tubes within the lab were broken, causing many of the experiments to go insane, and attack the very researchers and scientist who had experimented on them.As the experiments began to escape, screaming and crying began to fill each and every hallway, almost as if it were a zoo, or an insane asylum. Everyone was running frantically trying to escape the chaotic building. Some were lucky enough to make it out, but some however were either killed or were to injured to escape. The whole building was filled with chaos.
In one of the offices, there sat a girl about sixteen years old who was hiding under her father's desk. She had light brown hair which hung above her shoulder, and emerald green eyes.
She shivered in fear as one of the creature's draped their tongue over her father's desk. There were so many in the room, that she knew that one simple movement would cost her, her life. Amaya turned her eyes towards the door to the storage room of the lab, where she had once explored as a young child. She knew she would possibly be safer in there, but she knew she had to time it perfectly to make her escape towards the door. But waiting had to come first if she wanted to make it out of there alive.
She began to hear clicks on the floor from the creatures' sharp claws, the same exact claws which had impaled her father, and the other scientist. The same claws which had broken through the glass of the test tubes they were once kept in. She absolutely hated those creatures not just because they were completely ruthless towards everything, or because of their grotesque features, but mostly because they had murdered her father. He was the only person she had left in her life, which made her hatred for the creatures grow even more. She waited again, holding her fathers ID to the keypad of the lab and her phone close to her.
The water to the lab must have turned on, because the creatures began to screech, toppling over each other as they scrambled out of the room one by one. She waited once more to make sure that each creature was gone. Amaya knew that now was the perfect chance for her to run towards the storage room, however if she didn't take the chance to run now she may not have another.
Amaya looked right to left quickly checking the room, making sure that no creatures lingered behind. Slowly, she crawled out from beneath the desk, feeling something wet and slimy drop onto her head. It didn't take her very long to realize a creature was still above her. The creature jumped down from the ceiling bearing its teeth. It almost reminded her of the aliens from a famous sci-fi movie, except this creature had two tails which had spear like ends, and long sharp claws like a sloths.
Its long forked tongue was able to pick up many types of objects, including humans. She shivered in fear, as she quickly began to make her way towards the lab door. The creature was so close, that she could almost feel its hot steamy breath, which made the hairs on her neck stand on end.She was frightened for her life, knowing that the next moment that exact same creature would be on top of her.
I'm not ready to die...Not yet, not until I avenge my father and the other researchers, not before the next day...No, I'm not going to die, I'm going to live for everyone's sake, I must reach that door! Amaya thought to herself.
Running like she never did before, she held out her fathers ID so she would be ready to open the door. Reaching the door Amaya slapped the ID on the scanner, watching as the door slid open. When it was finally open she dashed in, watching as the creature began to speed up. Amaya, quickly slammed the door shut, hearing a large thud as the creature finally came to a stop. The creature scratched at the door, screeching loudly after every few scratches. Amaya sighed as she sat against the door, feeling every little thud the creature made.
"Just face the facts...I'm smarter than you...and I always will be." She said, pausing for air each time to catch her breath.
She glanced up, noticing a white cloak covering something, which looked to be a test tube. She stared at it hesitantly, wondering what could be hiding beneath the sheet. Finally, picking up the courage, to find out what was beneath it, she tossed the cloak aside, but noticed something odd about the experiment. It wasn't like the others, which prickled her curiosity even more.
