Chapter 1

The alarm sounded, rhea slammed the snooze button and pulled the comforter over her head to try and block out the morning sun that was cascading though her bedroom window. The smoky smell of bacon filled her bedroom as her mum entered.

"See Rhea this is exactly what I've been harping on about, if you stay up half the night on the phone with Matt you won't get up in time for school!"

"Alright mum I'm up" rhea shouted back.

To say Rhea was a morning person would be a lie, Rhea hated early mornings especially when she's only had a few hours sleep. rhea finally got out of bed after her mum stole her comforter.

Once showered and dressed Rhea skipped down the stairs to the kitchen, she had briefly forgotten how excited she was, today was Friday she had been looking forward to it all week as today was the day her and Matt went 'all the way' Rhea shrieked with excitement at the mere thought, she was going to meet her best friends after school Kady and Tasha and head to the Mall to find 'the' perfect outfit for tonight. rhea grabbed a slice of toast out of the toaster at sat at the table, excitement bubbling inside her at thought of her date with Matt. Rhea met Matt at the start of the semester, Matt was head of the school football team, drove a nice car and was absolutely gorgeous. Rhea had long wavy honey golden hair, bright blue eyes with a curvy body that most girls dreamed of. some may say that Rhea and Matt were the perfect match.

"Rhea snap out of it" her Mum shouted, "what are you still doing here? You've missed your bus now. Great that means I'm going to have to take you, you know how important today is Me and your father have got our business review meeting!" John and Lesley ran a successful publications office and were looking into opening there third branch.

"I'm sorry mum, I will just be late go ahead to your meeting, don't worry about me" pleaded Rhea.

"Grab your stuff and get in the car" shouted her mum.

Rhea couldn't believe she had been sitting daydreaming for 30minutes. It was now 8.30 and school starts at 8.45.

It was a 10 mile drive to school, Rhea hoped that if her mum stepped on it she would get to registration in time. The car was silent as Rheas mum drove down the winding road towards the interstate. Rhea could sense that her parents were mad at her and had already planned to make it up to them when she got the chance. As the car reached the end of the road a Truck came thundering from the opposite direction, Rheas mum tried in vain to avoid the oncoming collision but it was too late the truck smashed into the side of the car, sending it tumbling into the nearby trees, smoke quickly filled the car. Rhea panicked shouting to her father who had been thrown from the passenger side and was lying face down across some rocks a few feet from the car. Rhea quickly undone her seatbelt, she felt dizzy from the car being on its roof and she had blood pouring down her face. Rhea climbed through her open window and crawled over to her dad. Tears were running down her face as she attempted to turn him over

"please be ok dad" rhea kept repeating to herself.

Just then the car burst into flames, Rhea desperately tried to get back to the car for her mum was still inside but it was too hot as flames engulfed the vehicle.
