"You're worthless. You're nothing." These words echo through the dark. All I can see is my own reflection starring back at me. Blood dripping from my nose and my lip swollen.
"I'm not worthless!" I scream as tears fill my blackened eyes. My fist slamming on the glass, shattering.

I wake up to my alarm clock going off. "And bury your bracelet. Bury your bracelet. Six feet under the dirt" playing through the speakers.
I reach over to hit the snooze button when I hear footsteps outside my bedroom door. Instantly frozen, all I can hear now is my heart slamming against my ribs and the unknown person. As the doorknob begins to turn I grab the gun under my pillow.

"Paige? You awake yet?" I sigh in relief and put the gun back. It's just your sister, you're fine.

"Yeah, how'd you get in?" I ask as Stephanie stands over my bed.
"I have a spare key remember?" She smiles innocently. I chuckle to myself, of coarse she had a key. With my new alarm system in place and other precautions there's no way she'd be able to get in without it.

"Do you need something?" I ask her, getting out of bed. She pauses for a moment. "Your alarm song is pretty morbid" her eyes drifting to my clock. It was a song about killing a ex after they cheated on you or something, it was strangely comforting to me. I ignore her statement. "Why are you here?" I ask. This time she answers.
"Mom wanted me to check in on you, figured you would have been awake by now" she traces her fingertips over my bed frame. I begin to change out of my pjs into something more presentable. "A phone call would have worked just fine" as much as I appreciate them being concerned, they should know better then to sneak up on me.
"Did you lock the door after you came in?" I ask trying to seem casual about it. Stephanie left the room and quickly came back. "Now I did" she chuckled. I gave a forced chuckle back.

Later that day

I park my car in the groceries store lot and as I am about to step out I see him.
Oh god no.
I lock my car doors and slide into my seat so the car looks empty. My shaking hands grab my cell phone and dial Stephanie.
Three rings later and a calm voice answers. "Hello?" I try to catch my breathe before replying. "Paige is everything okay?" Her voice growing less calm. "He's here, I see him" I whisper. I peak over the steering wheel to see Tyler reading a "help wanted" sign. "What?! He can't be in this town! I'm calling the cops." Stephanie's voice grows louder. My body going cold yet sweating profusely. "He isn't in our town...I-I went to a grocery store a town or two over." I admit to her. She is silent for a little bit. But I keep my eyes on him, he has now started to walk to his car. "Why?" She asks sounding oddly calm again. "I wasn't in the mood to be seen in public by people I know." Our town was fairly small, so everyone there knew each other. Which meant everyone knew about me and Tyler. So I didn't want nosey people me questions or people feeling sorry for me.
"He's gone now, I'm heading back home." I hang up and slide up from my seat when I am sure he has left.

I can't believe I have to fear going grocery shopping because he may work there now. How could he get a job and live life as normal when I am unable to live a normal life anymore. How could I? Constantly being scared and all. I bet he walks around un afraid or bothered. Well maybe he should be afraid.
