He doesn't remember how he got there, but Ant woke up and found himself in the middle of a dark forest.

That had been days ago. Now Ant is running towards the light peeking through the thick trunks of the trees. He could hear the sound of rushing water getting louder and louder as he got closer to the edge of the forest.

He finally reached the edge and found himself standing at the edge of a river. Ant fell onto his knees by the water's edge, took off his cap, and then dunked his head underwater. He pulled his head out of the water and gasped for air. It has been days since he had any water to drink, so the river was a welcoming sight. Ant drank his fill before settling against a tree.

He looked up, and for the first time in what seemed like forever, he saw the sky. The sun was getting ready to set and the sky's color was shifting from the red-orange color to a purplish-black color.

Ant watched as the color of the sky changed and slowly, stars started to appear. He felt less scared as one by one stars littered the night sky, but the company of the stars wasn't enough to quell the loneliness in his heart. He's lost in the middle of nowhere without his mam or Sahra. He only has the clothes on his back and his cap with him, and the night sky as company.

Overwhelmed by his loneliness, Ant broke down into tears. He didn't bother restraining himself; he let his cries travel through the dark, unforgiving forest.

"Oi! What's with all the crying?"

Ant abruptly stopped crying and looked around him in search of the source of the voice.

"Up here, mate!"

Ant looked up and saw a small boy floating -like actually floating- in front of him. The scream he wanted to let out got stuck in his throat, so instead he stared wide-eyed, mouth gaping, at the floating boy.

The boy was dressed in a tattered green shirt paired with tights, which was a in a darker shade of green. Around his waist was a rope securing a small sword on his hip. And on his head, he wore a green pointed hat with a red feather sticking out of it.

Ant couldn't make out any of the boy's facial features. It wasn't until he flew towards him and landed a few feet away from him when he could clearly see his face.

The boy in green approached him with the sweetest smile on his slightly chubby face. His brown floppy hair was swept across his forehead, away from his grey-blue eyes.

"Peter Pan - that's what they call me," he said as he held out a hand for Ant to take. "And you are?"

Ant had a niggling feeling in the back of his head saying something wasn't right. That this boy really isn't Peter Pan. He shakes off the feeling and reaches for Peter's outstretched hand.

"I'm Ant," he said through his sniffles.

"Well Ant, stop crying," Peter firmly said, but there was still a hint of amiability in his voice. "Here in Neverland, it's against the rules to cry. And I promise, while you're with me, you'll never be lonely."

Ant doesn't know why, but he full - heartedly believed this strange flying boy.

"You're gonna have to stay in the hospital for a bit before they can operate on your leg, Dec," Anne explained to her son. She was walking next to Dec, who was being wheeled to a room in the Intensive Care Unit. "They want to treat you with chemo first to make the tumor smaller before they surgically take it off."

"Cancer, Mam. I have cancer," Dec says in disbelief.

"I know, son. We can't believe it either. We're just grateful that we found it now rather than later," Alph said, who was walking on Dec's other side.
