Saki has seemingly taken a liking to the training we are doing, trying to open the gates. I wear the vest thing, and it's surprisingly not that heavy after a couple days. But Leorio says other wise. "Maki you seem to adapt quickly." Kurapika points out as we try pushing on the gate, with the vests. "She's always been like that." Saki tells him. "Wow! that's cool!" Gon says in amazement. I see Saki glance at him, with a hint of sadness in her eyes. I stop leaning against the wall. "Well Saki, always seems to have good judgement in people." I say. Gon then shifted his attention to her. And started asking a bunch of other questions about what else she could do. She beamed and told him, what she could, in a way that made sense.
Just seeing her like this makes me happy. I smile at them, but I can't help but feel a little jealous. 'How is that fair?' I think to myself. 'Why does Killua have to be trapped in his own home instead of being with us and smiling?' Thinking this makes me look at the gate. I suddenly have an idea, and head over to the old man that guards the gate. "May I make a call to Killua's mother?" I ask. He looks at me quizzingly but nods. He calls the mansion, and explains who wants to talk with her, and asks if she was available. It took him a moment but he then hands me the phone.
"Hello?" I say into the phone.
"Hello. I wish to know why you wish to speak to Mrs. Zoldyck?" A male voice answered.
"Well, I just wanted to ask her a few questions. I was curious what kind of person she is, and if she would be willing to help me understand some things. Girl things." I clarify. I hear silence for a moment then I hear, "...Very well. I will see if she will talk to you, just a moment."
And with that I was placed on hold. I sigh a sigh of relief. I waited a good minute, when I heard. "What is it?" a woman's voice was heard. And she didn't sound happy to talk to me.
"Hello, my name is Maki Fujoka. I'm a friend of Killua's. And I wanted to ask some questions." I tell her.
"Friend? But you're a....young girl...." She said.
"That doesn't mean I can't be his friend." I say.
"Maki was it? You know full well my son is an assassin, so why would you consider him a friend?" She asks me.
"..Because he is nice to me, and took care of me when I was poisoned during the exams. If that isn't a friend I don't know what is." I explain. However I said it with a blush on my cheeks.
"Ok what did you want to ask me?" She sighs. I think she was more interested in me now, and I don't like that.
"Oh, well....It's just why doesn't Killua want to talk to us?" I ask sadly.
".........I don't know what goes on in his head. But I would like to meet you in person. We can finish this conversation in person." She said as she then hung up.
"Oh? Umm..... Sir can you let me in?" I ask. He looks at me confused. "Why?" He asks me.
"Just Killua mom, wants finish talking in person. I understand if you don't believe me." I say looking down at my feet.
"I believe you. You seem like a honest girl." He said as he walked me out of the little office. "So I'll let you in. And help you get that vest off." he said as we stopped in front of the gate. I raised my arms above my head as he took the heavy vest off. As he did this the others walked up to us.
"What's going on?" Gon asks. "I'm going to meet Killua's mom." I answer. "What?!" They all cry out.
"It's just that she has taking a interest in me." I said nervously. The old man opened the gates and a Butler was waiting on the other side. "Miss Maki. I'm here to escort you." He said as he bowed. He was not the same person I talked to on the phone earlier. He was younger and had a slight tan. He was attractive, but not as cute as Killua.
