indigo.
hearing my alarm go off, i quickly slid my thumb across my phone screen to turn it off.
groaning, i lifted myself up from my bed and walked over to the bathroom. i brushed my teeth and washed my face. i showered last night, so it wasn't necessary for me to take another one.
walking over to my closet, i picked out my clothes. i put on some black ripped jeans, a black shirt, my black timbs, and a green bomber. i stood in front of the mirror and fluffed out my hair a bit. my curls were popping right now.
i strolled over to my nightstand and put on one of my gold chains. as i was putting on my watch, my phone started ringing. i furrowed my eyebrows as it was from an unknown number. i finished latching the watch on my wrist before answering the phone.
"hello?" i walked over to my dresser and grabbed a pair of glasses, placing them on my face.
"hello, is this indigo?"
i nodded my head stupidly. "yes, may i ask who's calling?"
"isaiah."
i gasped. "isaiah! oh my god, how are you?"
isaiah is my older brother. he's 23. after he graduated from high school, he went to the marines, and then later on went to the army. our family didn't see him that often, but when we did we had a great time.
isaiah chuckled. "i'm good little sister. how are you? how's the family?"
i smiled. "i'm good. we're all good over here."
"i miss you guys."
i sighed. "same over here. do you know when you're coming back?"
there was a pause before he replied. "i'm not so sure."
i frowned. "oh, okay."
i heard him sigh before he replied. "i'll be home soon though. don't worry kiddo."
i let out a light laugh. "alright."
there were a few voices heard in the background.
"i gotta go. i have to get back."
i frowned before replying. "okay. be careful siah."
"love you indigo."
"love you too." i took the phone away from my ear and hung up.
i placed my phone in my back pocket before grabbing my book bag. i looked around the room making sure i didn't forget anything before walking out of my room and down the stairs.
i plopped down on the stool that was sitting in front of the counter. "morning."
my dad sent me a small smile before continuing to write some stuff on a sheet of paper.
"good morning."
my mom slid me my usual morning smoothie. yawning, i lifted up the cup and moved it around a bit.
"what flavor is this?"
she flipped one of the pancakes that were on the skillet. "it's strawberry kiwi."
i nodded my head before taking a sip of it. once i was finished, i licked the access off of my lips.
sighing, i crossed my arms and rested my head on them, closing my eyes.
"indigo."
i snapped my eyes open, looking at my mother. "yes?"
she slid my car keys to me. "it's time for you to go sweetheart."
