Senui woke up with sunlight bleeding through cracks in the roof. She yawned and stretched. Her nightclothes shimmering in the light. Senui's house was on its last legs. Mother had said this was the last night they could sleep in this hut. Senui' had grown here and the thought of leaving sickened her. Feelow, the cat also awakened and stretched, purring lowly. Senui patted her head and walked through the draping hartokaol vines that draped over the entrance of the hut. The vines tickled her skin. Mother and Galast most likely arose early to pick berries in the forest. Galast had left his trunta skinned jacket in the hut and the morning was sprinkled with the chilly air. Feelow followed her out of the home. She meowed loudly, practically begging for her breakfast. Senui quickly ran into the hut and pulled a fish from Galast's wooden drawer he had crafted. Feelow was his cat but everyone in the family treated her the same way he did.  Senui brushed a red lock of hair from her face. In the sun her skin glowed a bright yellow but in the night she was almost pitch black. Right as she set out to look for her mother and Galast she heard the loud voice of him. Galast was singing his song about the birds and the flowers. Her little brother always had a very active imagination, something Senui lacked and wished for. "Senui! Oh good morning. sweet child," mother pulled Senui into a tight embrace.
"Hello mother" Senui said. She patted Galast on his head, "You too."
He swatted her hand away with a loud OUCH!! "He tripped and fell in the forest, he hit his head on a rock when he fell." Explained mother while rubbing his back. After a long morning in the hut of moving belongings out and ground frettos berries and xelon eggs for breakfast, Senui escaped into the forest. She wanted to say hello to Miss Rabock today. Miss Rabock was a woman whom Senui stumbled across while chasing a pretty bird after Galast had upset her. Miss Rabock had said, "Child, child," shaking a finger. "You could fall and hurt yourself in this forest." That's when she invited Senui in for tea and they dined until it became dark. Miss Rabock was an older lady, maybe about sixty. She had wrinkles upon her gray skinned face. Her hair was a very dark shade of black, which Senui thought odd for an old lady. Her eyes were a piercing bronze which was very inhuman. Senui knocked upon the door. Almost immediately the door opened wide and the hinges squeaked loudly. A huge smile was upon Miss Rabock's face. Senui couldn't help smiling back. They hugged each other for a while and when Senui pulled away she told her friend that she couldn't stay long. She had to go help with the hut project. Miss Rabock said that she must go now instead of "diddydalling" with herself.
"I insist" Senui exclaimed. At that Miss Rabock let Senui inside of her home. It was a wooden circular house carved into the side of a hill. They sat at Miss Rabock's now familiar table with he small chairs. Every time Senui came into the house she was amazed. The bookshelves, the bedroom, the widows, the flooring, it was all so, so beautiful. Miss Rabock sat down with tiny little muffins and tea. This was Senui's happy place. She didn't even notice her eyelids getting heavy and when she gently fell asleep on Miss Rabock's table.
