"WHY ARE YOU YELLING AT ME!",I screeched at my father who obviously doesn't trust me.
"LOOK ASIA,ALL IM SAYING IS THAT THOSE BOYS ARE UP TO NO GOOD",he replied loudly and firmly to me.
"Look dad, every since mom died you never acted the same...you lacked trust of me and never let me make my own decisions.I understand that you care but at least let me do something for once for heaven's sake I'm 18",I said in a very weak voice because I hate mentioning my mom who died of breast cancer when I was only 13.
''Ok...I'm gotta agree with you. You're a young adult and you should be able to make you own decisions".He sighed heavily
I smiled."Thanks daddy".
He stretched his arms out to me."I know now come give me a hug before you go.I nodded and ran into his arms giving him a bear hug.He pulled away."Now be good Asia,I know this is your first year of college but make sure you focus and then have fun",he said to me on my way out the door."I will",I hollered getting in my all white Charger with rims.I beeped my horn and pulled off headed to pick up my best friend Chrissy. In my rearview mirror I could see my dad waving and I smiled.Im really gonna miss my old man.
I pulled up to Chrissy's house and she was outside with her bags along with her mom.I got out and greeted them."Hey Chrissy,Hi Melanie"."Hey Asia",they both said to me.Chrissy's stepmom Melanie and I began to help Chrissy with her bags along with her dad George stuffing them into the back seat and trunk. When we were finished Chrissy's parents gave us both hugs."You girls be safe and be mindful with your school work",George said."And boys after",Melanie said.We laughed and gave them both one more hug and got in the car.
We headed down the road for 3 hours straight, headed to Hattiesburg and to the college.I drove 2 hours and Chrissy drove the rest of the way.We soon saw a McDonald's so she pulled over to it.
"Um can I have a 10 piece nugget meal with a medium Sprite please'',I said to the cashier lady.
"OK is that here or to go",she asked.
"Here",I said looking over at Chrissy who was ordering also.
"OK that will be $5.89 please.''
I dug in my wallet and gave her a $10 bill.
"Thank you and here's your change.''
''Thank you",I said grabbing the extra money and my tray of food which was already ready on the counter.I soon saw Chrissy talking to two boys about our age while she was eating and so were they.I walked over to their table and sat beside Chrissy.
"Oh there you are,I thought you got lost for a second",Chrissy said and I laughed." I know right they were taking forever.''
"Oh yeah Asia this is Dylan and that's his brother Lance''Chrissy said and the boys looked over at me."Hey",they said."Hi'',I said nervously.
"You don't have to be shy lil mama we're just regular boys",Dylan said to me.I smiled and glanced over at Chrissy who had her own convo going with Lance."So how old are you",he asked me eating some of his fries."18,you?"'I said eating mine too.
"Same here",he said."But you look like a little baby doll though not a mature girl",he continued.
"I get that a lot",I smiled. My eyes trialed to his bright baby blue eyes and he stared right back in mine.He broke the awkwardness."Um just to let you know you have some beautiful ey-,wait..weren't your eyes just blue but now their...pink",he asked squinting his eyes trying to look.
"Than-,wait what",I panicked getting my phone out of my pocket and looking into it.And they were...pink.
"Um does that mean anything",he asked looking worried.
