Tokyo's POV
"Tok, all I'm saying is that you need to leave that boy alone I don't have a good vibe around him" Xavier tells me. School just let out so were leaving, every time I mention Jacquess X always freezes up and tells me to stay away from him.
I truly think X is beating around the bush on telling me something that's dealing with Jacquess. If X is near or even hears Jacquess he acts different, he gets quite, goosebumps starts to appear on his arms, he gets nervous and shakes his right leg, and he always run his hands through his hair.
My best friend only does that when he's scared, frustrated or stressed. On some days he comes to school with bruises on his arms and neck. I used to think it would be his T- Lady beating his ass for something but I just know its something else. I've noticed that he acts different around Jacquess, but Jacquess looks as if nothing is bothering him.
As I observe more I notice a lot of things and put pieces together. I have a feeling that Jacquess is doing something to my best friend. But I don't want to jump to conclusions, I'll just have to wait until I get evidence. If anything Xavier should always be honest with me and tell me what's going on.
"Like I always say X, you have to get to know him to actually see that he's a nice guy" I reassure him. "Nice guy? Girl please he's a disgusting, hateful person that I very much despise" he snapped. "How could you say that about someone you barely know" I asked calmly "Beca-" he cut himself off and looked down in defeat.
"Is there something your not telling me about Jacquess?" I asked trying to get a look at his face. "Its nothing okay, I'm just cautious of him I feel like he's a bad guy and he's gonna hurt you" I heard him sniffing as he said this with his head still down.
My best friend is crying...
"It has to be more if my best friend is crying just by having a conversation over a person that we both barely know" I said softly. I didn't want to press on the subject too much but, I wanted to know what was going on. He didn't speak until we got to the buses, we don't ride the same bus as each other so we had to part ways.
"What you doing for the weekend since its Friday?" He asked still with his head down. "Well, Jacquess asked me if I wanted to go to the movies with him later night so, I'll be attending that" I respond. He chuckled lowly "You know its funny .. Because as I can recall I remember asking you did you want come to the movies with me on Friday night" he said sadly.
I pouted remembering that he did ask me that "Well we could all go togeth-" "No" he said too quickly cutting me off. He looked up "I'm sorry but, I just can't go and you already know Chubby.. I just... I-I can't" he spoke softly. I sighed "Well how about I'll come over on Saturday, we have a girls night and then on that Sunday, we could go job hunting cause we need a damn job" I tell him.
He cracked a small smile "You promise, because I have all the tea.. So much bitch that your teacup might overflow.. So much that I might put too much honey in it.. So much that the tea might be too hot for you.. So much that I might have to run back to the store to get some more tea.. So much that I mi-" "Okay damn, this tea sounds good as hell and I promise" I said while laughing.
"I'm just saying, I got the tea hunty and its mighty sweet" he said while snapping his fingers in the air and twisting his hips. "Okay hunty.. And on a serious note bestie, please don't have me playing Dora Explore around this because you and I know that I am lazy and my big ass is going to be tired when I'm done investigating and helping with what's going on between you and Jacquess" I said while walking him to his bus.
X sighed "I'll tell you, without a doubt I will but just when I'm ready I promise you that much" he said while looking at me seriously. "Okay fine, I will wait whenever your ready I'll be here" I tell him. Suddenly I started to see the buses leaving out of the school's property.
